2. Greetings

Good day, everyone! Hope you are all doing fine.

: Good morning, Ma’am. We are fine

Ma’am.

Pleased to hear that class. Now, it is nice to meeting you all. I am

your teacher for today and call me ma’am Norie.
: Yes Ma’am.
I believe you are ready to learn new lesson today, am I right?

Are you ready? Everybody?

3. Checking of Attendance

To check your attendance, please type PRESENT in our Group

Chat, every weekdays with your selfie.

4. Class rule of the day

I’d like to remind you, before we proceed that, in this type of

learning, we have a one simple rule. BE HONEST. Be honest with
what have you learn while reading your learning material.

Is that clear, everyone?

: Yes Ma’am.
Okay, very good!

5. Checking Assignment

I have checked your assignment earlier and almost of you got a

perfect score. I am glad that you have learned well.

6. Review

Before we proceed to our next lesson, I’d like to review what our
lesson last session. (attentively watching and listening to
the topic)
Can everyone remember our lesson last session?
: The basic commands of Auto-CAD,
Ma’am.
Very good! Last session we’ve discussed about the basic commands
of Auto-CAD. Again, what is Auto-CAD?
: Auto-CAD is a commercial
computer-aided design and drafting
software application. And it is used
Very good! In other word, Auto-CAD is a type of oriented to for precise 2D and 3D drafting,
drawing and modeling in 2D and 3D. design, and modeling.

What else did we discussed?

: Basic commands in Auto-CAD,
Ma’am!
Okay, very good! Who can give me one command used in Auto-
CAD? : Click L to create a line.
Very good! What else?
: The RO command, Ma’am, to rotate
the object in the drawing.
Very good! I thought you did not listen to my discussion yesterday,
I am glad to learn that class. What else did we discussed? : The command of trimming the
object. Just click the TRIM in the
command section.
Very good!

Okay!, those commands that you have mentioned are the basic
command of using Auto-CAD to draw an object. You should
remember or memorize those command because it will help you to : Okay, Ma’am.
ease using Auto-CAD.

Do you have any questions with regards to our last topic?

: None so far, ma’am.

7. Motivation

Who want to a house in the future?

Of course, everyone want to have a house, own house.

We can imagine our dream house and plan it.

By using Auto-CAD.

Now let us watch some videos to motivate you.

B. Lesson Proper

Our ideal lesson for today is Manipulating CAD Features: Tools

Before we start, let us first read the objectives for today’s lesson:

1. Cognitive : Identify and match modifying command to its

functions;
2. Psycho-motor : Constructs drawing objects applying the
modifying tools; and
3. Affective : Develop traits such as creativity, independence,
ingenuity, and passion towards
 What have you previously Know?

 Activity: NAME ME!

If you are now ready to accomplish our first task, get your module
and papers to answer this following activity.

In this activity, I will show pictures of some types of basic

command we’ve discussed previously and you will guess it.

Directions: Identify the drawing commands applied in the

illustration below. Write your answers on the blank.

 Analysis: : it is a software that use of computers

to aid in the creation, modification,
Based on the activity we did earlier, what comes on your mind analysis, or organization of a design.
when you hear the Computer-Aided Design?
: CAD is where you create your plan
and make it more realistic drawing.
Okay, very good, what else?

Very good, I am glad that you have learned from our activity
earlier.

Now take a look, I have picture here, A and B in one box. Kindly
look and observe it well.

: The picture shows the different uses

(Presenting picture) of the command. In the set A, more on
drawing command such draw a line,
Okay, what did you notice in the picture? draw a circle, while in the set B, more
on edition command like erasing the
object that drawn, moving the object,
and other command.

:they are part of the commands but

different ways of uses.
Very good! What else?

Very good! The picture shown some basic commands in using

Auto-CAD, those are very big help to ease your drawing using
Auto-CAD.

 Abstraction

Now, we will proceed to our lesson today. We will go deeper on

manipulating the CAD features which the tools use in Technical
Drafting and we will later on classify the tools according to their
function and task requirements.

Based on the picture that I showed to your analysis, that is the basic
modifying commands that are use for lay outing for drawings.

In creating your drawing in Auto-CAD, you need the right tools to

create accurate and precise drawing. Auto-CAD provides a whole
range of modify tools such as Move, Copy, Rotate, and Mirror that
you can use to create the image you need.

Let us more explore the different modifying commands.

The modify tools can be accessed in one of three ways, from the
keyboard, from the pull-down menu and from the toolbar. The
method you choose is entirely up to you that you feel most
comfortable with or the one you find most efficient.

Modify Command and its Functions/Uses

Move - works in a similar way to the Copy command except that
no copy is made, the selected object(s) is simply moved from
one location to another.

Copy - The Copy command can be used to create one or more

duplicates of any drawing object or objects which the user have
previously created. It is very useful and time-saving command
for it can create very complex drawing elements and then simply
copy them as many times as the user like.

Stretch - can be used to move one or more vertices of an

object whilst leaving the rest of the object unchanged. In
the example below, a rectangle has been stretched by
moving one vertex to create an irregular shape.

Rotate - the Rotate commands allows an object or objects to be

rotated about a point selected by the user.

Mirror - The Mirror command allows to mirror a selected

objects in your drawing by picking them and then defining the
position of an imaginary mirror line using two points.

Scale - can be used to change the size of an object or

group of objects.

Trim - can be used to trim a part of an object. Must draw a

second object to trim an object which to forms a cutting
edge.

Extend - extends a line, polyline or arce to meet another

drawing object that known as boundary edge.

Fillet - can be used to fillet arcs and circles. It useful tools

to allows you to draw an arc between two intersecting lines
or adjacent polyline segments.

Chamfer - enables you to create a chamfer between any

two non-parallel lines as in the illustration below or any,
two adjacent poly-line segments.

Array - The Array command makes multiple copies of selected

objects in a rectangular matrix (columns and rows) or a polar
(circular) pattern.
Rectangular Array The distance between rows
is indicated with the
dimension DR and between
columns with DC. Creating
rectangular arrays it is
important to remember that
new rows are created above
the original object and new
columns are created to the
right of the original object.

Polar Array Works in a similar way to

the rectangular array. The
main difference is that
rather than specifying the
number and offset for rows
and columns, it must
specify a center point and
the total number of objects
in the array.
Erase - one of the simplest AutoCAD commands and most
used.

Explode - used to explode single objects back to their

constituent parts. The command is used to return blocks,
poly-lines etc.

Offset - The Offset command creates a new object parallel to or

concentric with a selected object. The new object is drawn at a
user defined distance (the offset) from the original and in a
direction chosen by the user with a pick point. User can offset
lines, arcs, circles, ellipses, 2D polylines, xlines, rays and planar
splines.

Circles can be offset inside or outside of themselves to create a

new circle which is concentric (has the same centre point) with
the original circle.

Again, the modify tools can be accessed in one of three ways, from
the keyboard, from the (mouse) pull-down menu and from the
toolbar. The method you choose is entirely up to you that you feel
most comfortable with or the one you find most efficient.
