INTRODUCTION ACTIVITIES AND OTHER MATTERS


OF FROSHIE FAIR GUIDELINES
FROSHIE FAIR
A 2-day event consisting of various activities to welcome
freshmen students during this period. An event composed of
three (3) main activities: The Chant Battle, Froshie Star, and Mr. &
Ms. Froshie 2022. The event is set to take place on October 7-8,
2022.
FR OSHIE FAIR
General Guidelines
1. Froshie Fair 2022 is open to all bona fide first-year students of
Batangas State University - Alangilan including its extension
campuses.
2. All participants of the competition must adhere to the
following clustering of programs to be referred to as tribes as
seen in the table below.
3. Each tribe must come up with their own tribe names.
4. All participants are entitled to receive a Certificate of
Participation.

1. This competition is a chant-making contest where students can exhibit their talent and coordination
in making an energetic yell that shall represent their respective tribes.
2. All tribes are required to participate in this group activity except those from the extension
campuses.
3. The group must be composed of a minimum of 10 and a maximum of fifteen (15) members coming
from each tribe.
4. Each group is only given a minimum of 1 minute and a maximum of 2 minutes to perform live.
5. The composed chant must be performed without any accompanying instrument or in a capella. Any
instrument use is strictly prohibited; groups can only use their body parts like clapping and
beatboxing.
6. Participants are free to create any chant that shall represent their tribe as long as there will be no
vulgar words, malicious ideas, and inappropriate concepts in the chant. Also, the tribe’s name must
be clearly mentioned in the yell.
7. Simple choreography may also be incorporated in the chant.
8. Winners of the said contest shall receive a Certificate of Recognition with the following cash prizes:
a. First Place - PHP 2,000.00
b. Second Place - PHP 1,500.00
c. Third Place - PHP 1,000.00
9. All entries shall be judged according to the set of criteria for judging below. The decision of the
Board of Judges, across all stages of this competition, shall be final and unappealable.

1. Froshie Star is a singing competition that aims to display froshie’s musical talent and creativity.
2. All tribes are required to send in participants based on the number stated below except those from
the extension campuses.
a. Civil Engineering Department - 2 Participants
b. Chemical Engineering Department - 2 Contestants
c. Electrical Engineering Department - 2 Contestants
d. Electronics Engineering Department - 2 Contestants
e. Industrial Engineering Department - 1 Contestant
f. Mechanical Engineering Department - 2 Contestants
g. College of Informatics and Computing Sciences - 2 Contestants
h. College of Industrial Technology - 2 Contestants
i. College of Architecture, Fine Arts and Design - 2 Contestants
j. BatStateU Mabini - 1 Contestant
k. BatStateU Balayan - 1 Contestant
l. BatStateU Lobo - 1 Contestant
3. The elimination round shall take place on the first day of the event. Contestants are free to pick
their own song for the elimination round.
4. The lyrics of the song must be Filipino, English, or both. One or a combination of any instruments
may be used.

5. Contestants’ scores from the elimination round shall not affect their scores in the final round; scores
will be back to zero.
6. The Top 5 participants will have a chance to perform in between the segments of Mr. and Ms. Campus
Frosh as the final round. The winners of Froshie Star 2022 will be announced on the same day.
7. For the final round, five songs revolving around the concept of ‘Weaving Wonders’ selected by the
committee will be randomly assigned to each contestant.
8. Winners of the said contest shall receive a Certificate of Recognition with the following cash prizes:
a. First Place - PHP 2,000.00 (with Trophy)
b. Second Place - PHP 1,500.00
c. Third Place - PHP 1,000.00
d. Fourth Place - PHP 750.00
e. Fifth Place - PHP 500.009
9. All entries shall be judged according to the set of criteria for judging below. The decision of the
Board of Judges, across all stages of this competition, shall be final and unappealable.

1. This competition is a pageant that aims to exhibit the froshie’s beauty and wit in connection to the
event’s central theme of “Weaving wonders, crafting connections, celebrating creativity and
culture.”
2. All tribes are required to send in candidates based on the number stated below.
a. Civil Engineering Department - 2 Pairs
b. Chemical Engineering Department - 2 Pairs
c. Electrical Engineering Department - 2 Pairs
d. Electronics Engineering Department - 2 Pairs
e. Industrial Engineering Department - 1 Pair
f. Mechanical Engineering Department - 2 Pairs
g. College of Informatics and Computing Sciences - 2 Pairs
h. College of Industrial Technology - 2 Pairs
i. College of Architecture, Fine Arts and Design - 2 Pairs
j. BatStateU Mabini - 1 Pair
k. BatStateU Balayan - 1 Pair
l. BatStateU Lobo - 1 Pair
3. The pageant has no height requirements.
4. The decision of the Board of Judges, across all stages of this competition, shall be final and
unappealable.

PRE-PAGEANT ACTIVITIES

1. Photoshoot
a. A photoshoot shall be conducted to come up with materials to be used in the promotion
of the contest.
b. In the shoot, contestants will wear the provided pageant shirt. Props for the shoot will be
provided by the organizer.
c. The produced photographs will be posted in SSC BatStateU Alangilan’s Facebook page in
search of the People’s Choice Award.
d. The photoshoot shall take place weeks prior to the competition proper. Full details are
yet to be announced.

2. Casual Interview
a. A casual interview will be conducted in order to test the eloquence and wit of the
candidates in expressing their ideas.
b. A roulette containing numbers will be displayed in the interview room. Each number
corresponds to a word which shall be expounded and explained by the candidate.
c. The candidates will be given strictly 1 minute ONLY to explain the given word.
d. Candidates must wear their pageant shirts for the interview. Female candidates shall wear
only light makeup. Male candidates shall have a neat and clean look.
e. Jewelry should be minimal.
f. Casual Interview is a pre-event segment that shall be held on a separate date prior to the
pageant day.

3. Piso Vote (Mr. and Ms. Popularity)
a. In search for the Mr. and Ms. Popularity, each candidate shall have a container that
will serve as a voting box.
b. 1 peso shall correspond to 1 vote. The title of Mr. and Ms. Popularity shall be given
to the candidate who has the highest number of votes in pesos.
c. All proceeds of the donations will be donated to the SSC BatStateU Alangilan that
shall serve as fund for its scholarship program.

1. Theme wear
a. Each contestant must wear a costume inspired by Philippine National Tribes. The costume shall not offend
any culture and tradition. Candidates are encouraged to research Philippine national tribes clothing in
order to not inappropriately and maliciously present our own culture.
b. The make-up should be appropriate for the candidate's chosen theme wear.
c. Candidates are free to use any prop and embellishments that are beneficial to their overall costume.
d. All theme wear shall be judged according to the set of criteria for judging below.

2. Production Number
a. All candidates must perform a production number.
b. An official shirt to be given to candidates will be made for this pageant which will be shouldered by the
organizers.
c. Males candidates must wear black shorts, white rubber shoes, and their pageant shirt. Female candidates
must wear white shorts (in appropriate length), heels, and their pageant shirt.
d. Candidates will be judged according to the criteria below.

3. Casual Wear
a. The casual wear of the participants shall revolve around the theme of “Prints and Patterns.” As part of
their overall outfit, a tribal print or pattern must be present.
b. Candidates must be able to project their own personal sense of style.
c. Candidates are free to wear any makeup that they think is suitable for their outfit.
d. Candidates will be judged according to the criteria below.

4. Formal Wear
a. For formal wear, female candidates must wear an elegant evening gown in heels, while male candidates
must wear a formal suit with leather shoes.
b. Jewelry should be minimal.
c. Candidates are free to wear any makeup they think suits their outfit.
d. Candidates will be judged according to the criteria below.

INTERACTIVE BOOTHS

1. This activity aims to interact with freshmen students in BatStateU Alangilan and its extension
campuses.
2. Booths shall be placed in their assigned areas for two (2) days until the event is over.
3. All departments are required to have booths that will represent their respective tribes based
on the number listed below, except for those from the extension campuses.
a. Civil Engineering Department - 1 booth
b. Chemical Engineering Department - 1 booth
c. Electrical Engineering Department - 1 booth
d. Electronics Engineering Department - 1 booth
e. Industrial Engineering Department - 1 booth
f. Mechanical Engineering Department - 1 booth
g. College of Informatics and Computing Sciences - 1 booth
h. College of Industrial Technology - 1 booth
i. College of Architecture, Fine Arts and Design - 1 booth

INTERACTIVE BOOTHS
4. The number of booths in each department must be strictly followed. There should be NO
collaboration between the mentioned departments.
5. Each tribe can choose activities they would like to conduct in their designated booths. There
can be no more than two booths of the same kind. Furthermore, two booths of the same kind
should have different mechanics.
6. Booths must display their mechanics in an area where these will be clearly visible.
7. The activities provided by each department must be interactive and tribe related.
8. The overall design of the booth should include tribe patterns or any ethnic materials.
9. Booths can serve as income-generating projects for each department.
10. Ensure that each booth should follow the safety protocols of the school premises.
