1.0 PROJECT BACKGROUND

PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad (PCGB) has embarked into a growth project
called “TITANIUM” by selectively diversifying portfolio into derivatives, specialty
chemicals and solutions to support the PCGSB’s vision in becoming the “Preferred
Chemicals Company providing innovative customer solutions”.
One of the project under the Titanium projects is the NUTMEG project which is to
build a 200ktPA Nitrile Butadiene latex (NBL) plant.
PRPC is the PIC park developer and will undertake the development of infrastructure,
offsite/utilities, interconnecting facility (OSBL) to support the Outside Battery Limit
scope required by Nitrile Butadiene Latex (NBL) Plant for operation. This OSBL
development is called N-OSBL project and the project was awarded to Dialog E&C
Sdn Bhd on 22nd July 2021.
Dialog E&C Sdn Bhd (CONTRACTOR) was awarded as an Engineering, Procurement,
Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) contractor for this project. This project
comprises of 2 main work scopes namely Scope 1: All Interconnecting Works to NBL

2.0 PURPOSE

The purpose of this document is to demonstrate that the piping arrangement of PIC
TITANIUM OSBL PROJECT Scope 2 in Pengerang Integrated Complex as required by
the relevant codes, standards, and project specifications, has inherent flexibility to
accommodate displacements due to design conditions, without imposing any
excessive loads on pipe supports. Furthermore, the piping stress levels to satisfy the
designated code. This document also defines the scope, definitions, and reference
documents, for calculation and documentation for the stress analysis of metallic
piping.

The document assumes that the reader will have general understanding of piping
stress analysis, pipe supporting and CAESAR II software.

3.0 DEFINITION & ACRONYMS

allowable displacement stress tangent, As per para 302.3.5 (d) by Equation (1a) of
ASME B31.3, Considering the equivalent no. of cycles full displacement cycle as 7000.

19.2 OCCASIONAL LOADS

Stress and Strain analysis shall be done in compliance with ASME B31.3.
Occasional Loads (Example: Wind, PSV & Earthquake) need not to be considered
occurring concurrently based on ASME B 31.3.

19.3 OTHER LOADS

In addition to the Sustained, Thermal and Occasional loads, the following are also
considered in the analysis
 Pressure Loading
 Earth Quake
 Equipment loading
