1. GENERAL
This document includes a calculation method of outdoor and indoor lighting, as the basis for
determining the amount of light needed a the level illumination intensity specified for Truck Mounted
Gas Turbine Power Plant Project 100 MW in Ba;lai Pungut, Riau, Indonesia

5. CALCULATION METHODE
5.1 Lumen Method
The method used to calculate the lumens of illumination which represents an average
illumination at all points on the working plane in the room.
The Steps calculation illumination level in the room using the lumen method is as follows:
5 × hRC × ( L + W )
RCR =
L ×W
E× A
Nt =
CU × LL × LLF
Where: Nt = Number of Lights
CU = Coefficient of Utilization
LL = Lumens/Lamp (lumen)
E = Maintained footcandle desire (lux)
A = Area (m2)
LLF = Light Loss Factor, assumed to be: 0.75.

Step 1 Determine the point where the level of illumination will be calculated (point A).
Step 2 Determine the amount of φ and H
Step 3 Determine the amount of candlepower of light on φ from the photometric data
obtained from the catalog.
Step 4 Calculate the level of illumination (E) at point A

Road Width
Mounting Height _ Light Ratio =
Pole Height
Where:
Road Width and Pole Height are in meter.
Step 2 Calculate Coefficient of Utilization (CU) by using a high-light ratio values obtained in
step1
Step 3 Determine the Light Loss Factor of the lamp (LLF), is assumed: 0.6
Step 4 Determine Lamp Lumens (LL) is obtained from the catalog.
Step 5 Calculate the level of illumination or Illumination Level (IL).
LL × CU × LLF
IL =
Pole Spacing × Road Width
Where :
IL = Illumination level (lux)
LL = Lamp Lumen (lumen)
CU = Coefficient of Utilization
LLF = Light Loss Factor
