Task 1: Experience as a Learner

Write a paragraph about your personal experience on how technology has influenced
your life as a learner from elementary, high school and college.

How Technology Influenced My Life as a Learner?

Technology has a vast influence in my life as a learner. It is no doubt that technology

made learning more bearable and enjoyable. When I was in elementary, I have no access with
any modern technology such as gadgets etc. Our school was given computer set but we never got
to use it even once. Back then, teaching was done traditionally and, on my part, I can say that my
learning experiences were quite fun and memorable. I remember that we only have few
technologies to support our learnings. We were always at the library to research and to widen our
knowledge in various subjects. When we have reporting, we always do our best and give much
effort to scan and read books. Pocket dictionaries were also our buddies and we use it to richen
our vocabulary however, it is frustrating sometimes when I cannot find the words that I am
looking for because dictionaries have limited words. Textbooks, dictionaries and etc. were the
only technologies that I got before and they are essential in my learning journey. To be honest,
using books to learn helps me to remember everything maybe because I give effort to acquire it.
Moreover, our visual aids before were just manila paper and we always use it during discussions
and reporting. I also experience the tedious part of traditional learning; our teachers made us
write everything that is written on the book because we only have one of it. Meanwhile, in high
school and now in college, the standard for learners is high and teachers expect more from us.
Through modern technology I was able to cope up and improve my learnings. Today we have
modern technologies such as gadgets, laptops, internet and etc. that makes leaning easier
compared before. I was also able to research faster and access various resources in just one click.
Discussions became more enjoyable and it made me a competitive, creative and up-to-date
learner. In the midst of pandemic, I was able to continue learning and continue to receive quality
education through technology. Lastly, there are various platforms online where I can widen my
knowledge, learn and explore. Technology is a tool for the betterment of student’s learning and it
has indeed influenced my life as a 21st century learner.

Task 2: Expectations as a Future Teacher

Write a paragraph on how you are going to use technology when you will become a
teacher?

How will I use Technology When I Become a Teacher?

When I become an educator in the mere future, I will use technology as a tool to deliver
my lessons and teachings well. I will train myself to get accustomed to different technological
innovations to improve my teaching and of course to help my students grow and develop as well.
I can use videos, audio records and etc. to support my teachings aside from using PowerPoint
presentations. Technology will be helpful in my teaching especially that my goal is to be a
science teacher. I can use video presentation not just to explain but to illustrate and elaborate my
lessons and discussions. For example, if I teach the water cycle and other cycles that are
happening in our environment, explaining them is good but it is better to use illustrations and
videos that show how exactly it happens. It is no fun to learn just by listening. Moreover, there
are different learners like visual learners and etc. and it is important to give attention to the
diversity inside my classroom in order for me to cater their needs as a learner and for me to
better perform my job and responsibility as an educator. Moreover, I will use technology to
create teaching tools designed for my students for them to learn better. I can also use it to
manage my job will like to keep records, data and handle schedule and etc. I believe that with
the right technology teaching and learning will be more fun and engaging.
