DAY I

Starting from the playground demonstration which is considered

to be the opening of intramurals, that is opened by Mr. Gerry De
Cadiz. Indeed it is such a great start to warm and open up the event
which emphasizes the ability and skills of each student. How it
started shows what the students are capable of doing starting from
the BPED students who give their all. Knowing that each student is
doing and giving their best just to keep up with the people’s
expectations, all the sacrifices, the physical pain, and all the rants
since day 1 of the practice is literally worth it in the end. All the
struggles are very much worth it, knowing that the people who are
watching are also proud of what we are doing. It is the very first
time I attend such intramurals , the reason why there are things
which I never really expected. Numerous events are done during this
day, the basketball men and women, volleyball men and women, and
also the most exciting part which I have considered in the first
day’s event which is the Cultural and the Arts and Dancesports
Competition.
Moving on from the Basketball
men and women, which is played
between two teams which consists
of five players. Played by Red
Raptors and Pink Tigers, which
happened at EVSU Ormoc Campus
on September 21,2022 afternoon.
It was firstly implemented in 1891 by a college instructor James
Naismith and has now grown worldwide. Watching how it is done by
each player really gives thrill, it is obviously seen through the cheer
of the crowds. Cheering their teammates and even their crushes is
emphasized in every game. Both men and women from red raptors
are higher than their opponent, which is the pink tigers. Both players
are given enough time to warm up before they will officially start
the game. There are several violations in playing basketball, one of
its common violations is the technical foul and it can be seen while
both teams are playing. Overall both men and women give excitement
to the crowds. The coaches from each team are literally giving their
best knowledge and experiences to their teams just to ensure that
they can perform well, coached from Pink Tigers which is Coach
Sashi Seguido and from Red Raptors who is Coach Collin Aurora.
During the game it is officiated by two referees, and two
scorekeepers. The two scorekeepers are Samantha Aquiles and
Shella Mae Caballero. Obviously there is no bias since every
officiators, even the scorekeepers, are instructed that cheering is
not allowed, the reason why the game becomes more certain.
The Volleyball men and women
which is also played by the same
teams, the Red Raptors and the
Pink tigers is still giving a
different rush of excitement to
everyone, specifically speaking the
cheers from both teams is giving
everyone a different kind of aura during the game. The game
becomes more tense and exciting, knowing that both teams are good
within their chosen sports. Both teams know how to handle
themselves to avoid any physical injuries while playing. They all have
the skills and their eyes say’s it all that passion rises up within their
heart. Volleyball was invented in 1895 but was originally called
“mintonette” by William Morgan, a physical director. It is designed
as an indoor game aligned with basketball. It is also played by two
teams consisting of 6 players each team, each team tries to score
points by grounding a ball on the other team’s court under organized
rules. One example of violation that is seen in the game is the
service error in which the player wasn’t able or fails to pass the ball
over the net. Volleyball is commonly officiated by two referees and
two line judges, during the game Mr. Berez is the referee. Coaches
are Mrs. Mary Joy Baltonado, Arnie Cadiente. The scorer from the
said sports is Francis Mary Makipig. The facility is also good for
playing the said sports. Everything is well organized. From the
women's team of Pink tigers, they are higher than their opponent
which is the red raptors. In the men’s team the Red Raptors is
higher than their opponent which is the Pink Tigers. Indeed it is
such a wonderful event to restart what we’ve missed during the time
of pandemic.

Moving forward to the most delightful part of the event, the

Cultural and the Arts and the Dancesports Competition. The
intramurals become more astonishing as they show not only the
sportsmanship between students but also showcases the talent, the
capability and the passion within their own strength. I can see the
passion burning in their eyes, doing the things they love and showing
people the things that they can do. I am really mesmerized by how
they perform, it is really mind wrecking and is indeed a wonderful
night that is worth it. Everyone’s effort is seen and is finally paid
off in the end. Every performer is actually good, they just show
encouragement to others to come out in each of their comfort
zones. The way Kuya Nathaniel dances and his partner is literally
excellent. Their facial expressions, their way of dancing, their
rhymes and their chemistry is excellent. They are the number one
dancers who just caught my attention this night. There are no
metaphors which can explain how amazed and mesmerized I am, by
how their partnership goes with the rhythm of music. As for my
point of view, I know everyone that night is hoping to have the
talents and skills that those dancers have, because even me I want
to be one of them. Nothing is impossible as long as the passion and
the eagerness is there, so basically I think it's also a new challenge
for a student like me who doesn't know how to dance to try and open
things that I've never expected for me to do. It is always better to
try new things which you haven't tried, because even the most
impossible things can be possible as long as it's burning within you.

Day 1 of intramurals is indeed a great restart amidst the

pandemic that we've faced before, there may be limitations by now
but it doesn't hinder the beauty and the capability that each person
can do. Starting from the facilitators, instructors, and to all the
people who made things possible, everything is worth it. We are still
on day 1 but things are clearly beautiful, the passion, skills, and the
talent is burning in everyone. Never believe in failure, even success
is temporary. Just always do and show the things which you are
capable of and everything will follow, never ever doubt yourself from
achieving things no matter how impossible it may seem. I always have
a doubt in my dancing skills but my feet lead me here, it calls for me.
It wants to burn the weakness in me, the reason why I will always
consider this as a challenge that will fire my weakness into one of my
strengths.
