At the end of the discussion, the students should be able to:

b. Formulate example of shade of meaning through pair activity

c. Construct “shades of meaning” in related words through paper and pencil activity.

B. MOTIVATION

As we start our lesson for today I want

everybody to think of one word that describe
yourself the most then afterwards pick one of
your classmate then describe her/him using
the word that you think but instead of using
the same word you can utilize other words
which is the same in meaning with the word
you think that describe you the most. Take
for instance; the word that describes me the
most is cheerful then I will pick Jeff and I
will describe him like Jeff is a happy person.
Take note that if your name is being
mentioned by your classmate it is expected Yes ma’am
that you are the next to think one word and
describe his/her fellows. Am I clear class?

Alright let’s begin Student 1: Ma’am our last topic is about

fiction and non-fiction
After 5 to 10 minutes the teacher elicits the

meaning is a phrase used to describe the
small, subtle differences in meaning between
similar words or phrases. In other words it is
using two different words but same meaning.
Take for instance; the word kid' and 'youth'
both refer to young people, but carry
