 The word “quadratic” comes from “quadratum”, the
Latin word for square. Hence, we define a quadratic
equation as an equation where the variable is of
the second degree. Therefore, a quadratic equation
is also called an “Equation of degree 2”.

 Quadratic Equation
A quadratic equation in one variable is a mathematical sentence
of degree 2 that can be written in the following standard form.
𝑎𝑥 𝟐 + 𝑏𝑥 + 𝑐 = 0

where a , b and c are real numbers and a ≠ 0.

important that some steps are to be followed:

 In solving quadratic equations there are different
methods that can be used, one of it is the factoring
method. If a and b are complex numbers and if ab=0,
then either a = 0 or b = 0, or both equal to 0.
