STUDENT-TEACHER: TIME ALLOTMENT:

 Words that are not considered part of the standard vocabulary

of a language and that are used very informally in speech
especially by a particular group of people.
Based on Miriam Webster Slang words are not considered as part of
the vocabulary of a language that we’re using nowadays. Here are
some examples of slang words;
 Frenemy- This term is a combination of the word’s "friend"
and "enemy." It is a person who appears on one hand to be
your friend but, at the same time is antagonistic towards you.
 Gansta - A “gangsta” is a type of black rap music that’s
extremely popular with teens of all races, and the gangsta is
someone is who is both tough and cool at the same time.
COLLOQUIAL
 Colloquial language is casual and conversational: it's the
difference between "What are you going to do?" and
"Whatchagonnado?"

COLLOQUIALISM
 A saying that expresses something other than the literal
meaning of the words it contains is a colloquialism, like saying
"I wasn't born yesterday," to mean "you can't fool me." Like
wat we tackled lately.

SOME EXAMPLES OF COLLOQUIAL WORDS AND

EXPRESSIONS
 a bunch of numpties – a group of idiots
 to bamboozle – to deceive
 go bananas – go insane or be very angry
 wanna – want to
 gonna – going to
 y’all – you all
 go nuts – go insane or be very angry
 look blue -look sad
 buzz off – go away

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SLANG AND COLLOQUIAL

EXPRESSIONS
 colloquial language is the informal language used by people in
every day speech. Its form is distinct to certain people and
lends them their identity. Colloquialism may be words,
phrases, or complete aphorisms. While slang, on the other
hand, it is more informal than colloquialism. It is used only by
certain groups – like teenagers or people of certain professions.

From now on I will stop here in the difference of slang and colloquial,
