"Wiring a Web for Global Good"

Gordon Brown

Moral Sense or Global Ethics

The "war on terror," rogue nations, child labor, torture, scarce resources,
trafficking, migration, climate change, global trade, medical tourism, global
pandemics, humanitarian intervention, and so on are all problems covered in global
ethics; the list is endless. Global ethics is not just timely – these are concerns that
we all care about – but it is also critical.
Global ethics seems to be the basic law or constitution for humankind of
humane coexistence which our religious and non-religious traditions.
All global actors' prospective interactions and possibilities will be shaped and
limited as a result; moreover, decisions made now will have an impact on future
generations. This is true for not just the climate change issues, in which our current
activities impact the environment our children and grandchildren will inherit, as well
as for decisions about what is acceptable and permitted to do to human people. For
instance –, if we collectively decide that it is acceptable to torture or to buy body
parts then we are making judgements about what human beings are, and these
decisions will limit and shape what is possible or permissible for future human
beings.
Therefore, if we preceded the global ethic's, we might dwell in a better, more
peaceful, and just world.

Global Society

Considering the present global economic crisis, Prime Minister Gordon Brown
called on international leaders to establish a “truly global society.”
A modern-day society in which all individuals on the world share a great lot of
shared interests. This may be a outcome of the world’s current period of increased
globalization.
As instances of this technology-enabled global society in action, he cited the
alleged text-enabled coup in the Philippines in 2001, the exposing of election
manipulation in Zimbabwe using mobile phone cameras, as well as the reaction to
the Iranian elections on the web.

Role of Communication for Global Good

Technology has evolved into an instrument for human expression, and the
web is a huge network that can both inspire and unite people. Gordon Brown
believes we had to go a step deeper. The internet has the potential for becoming a
rallying place for people all across the world to address global challenges. When it
comes to issues like global warming and famine, we can do more than merely
overthrow a corrupt government; technology and social media have the potential to
end world hunger and global warming; the power of communication is immense.

How do you find the talk?

Prime Minister Gordon Brown delivers a talk about how global communication
is the main factor to overcoming all of a world’s problems and can bring nations
together. He evidenced in the photographs how misunderstandings and a lack of
good communication between nations may result to chaos, and if not turmoil, how
even a absence of cooperation and awareness from other countries can have a
significant impact on the jurisdiction of the affected country. In other words, his
thoughts addressed the necessity of global communication as a means of
connecting nations, and why we should consider doing so now that technology has
made it simpler to do so. In this world of massive global problems, I concluded that
as a student with the freedom to voice myself and speak, I must know how to
communicate efficiently and successfully whereas if you know how to express
appropriately, you can be in one of those individuals who can save those certain
people’s lives, solve chaos, and set a good example and inspiration to the next era.
