SCENARIO 1: Leadership for Quality at Kentucky Corporation
Kentucky Corporation is a diversified technology company that operates in the highly
competitive electronics industry. Kentucky relies on its employees’ dedication to outperform
the competition worldwide in the areas of quality and productivity. The focus of Kentucky’s
leaders is on individuals and helping them achieve their peak performance levels. But there is a
problem, the managers of Kentucky Corporation seem to accept whatever recommendation of
the employees without weighing its pros and cons.

QUESTION: What is the most appropriate strategy the Kentucky managers should employ in
order to eliminate the organizational problem and promote leadership? Explain your answer.

It can be challenging to comprehend the concept of improving leadership tactically or

practically. The most appropriate strategy the Kentucky managers should employ is goal-
oriented style of leadership since it allows to ground in knowledge and realism, conscious of the
environment in which the organization operates, including the traditions upon which it is built,
and conscious of the risks being taken. As a goal-oriented leader Kentucky corporation should
be strict and have the authority to lead and define specific goals so that every individual is able
to see an opportunity and take initiative, set a goal and create a plan to get there. Setting up a
hierarchy of goals that flow down the organization or a series of goals that serve as steps
toward a long-term goal. Being a leader should take responsibility to have an eager to win or
pursue a certain goal its okay to take opinions but a leader is tasked to think creatively based on
the pros and cons outcome.
