I remember so well when I was in elementary school, when I still don’t know what technology was. In
the afternoon, I asked my mom’s permission to go out, playing with my friends. Then, at 5 p.m. my mom
came to take me home, the next thing happened that I cried, cause I still wanted to play with my friends.
And then when I was in fifth grade, the year I got my first smartphone. I really remember, that time I
was very, very happy. By the way, at that time there were still many people who thought that
technology was not an important thing.

And time goes by, in the beginning of 2020. Not a few still in denial that technology was important,
especially in education world, “the important thing is to memorize the material, it’s totally enough, you
don’t have to learn about technology.”

And then, when Pak Jokowi announced the first covid case in indonesia, everyone must do all of their
activities at home, even school. And that’s the time when people can’t deny that technology was really
important for their lives now.

My name is fenny, and I’m from sman 1 tarakan. And right now, I would like to talk about, “technology
for a better educational life”.

So, we knew really well that now we live in a world where everything is using technology, starting from
communicating with other people, looking for a new hobby, even shopping, everything can be done only
with technology. But did you know that this time, there are many human abilities that can be replaced
with technology. Huhh.. honestly, it’s sounds a bit scary to me. But because of this reason, make us
realize like it or not, we must be able to get used to with “technology”.

With technology, the quality of education will be better. Technology becomes a supporter to improve
education performance. It facilitates access to teaching and learning without limitations on time, space,
and place. It makes things easier for us to find all the information, and it also made us still connected to
each other even during this pandemic situation.

And as a user, we must also be ready to use this good support by using it maximally. It’s not just enough
to memorize, but also by developing your creativity, cooperation, and good coordination ability. Why??
Cause the algorithm can’t do those things except memorizing.
David warlick once said, “we need technology in every classroom and in every student and teacher’s
hand, because it’s the pen and paper of our time, and it’s the lens through which we experience much of
our world.” Remember that it’s not just about technology, but also about you and me and how we use it
properly, and create a better educational life for the future.

So now we knew that, first technology becomes a supporter to improve education performance.
Second, education in technology doesn’t limit on time, space, and place. And the last is not just about
technology but also about us, so we must be able to developing our creativity, cooperation, and good
coordination ability.

I believe that you and me, with this technology, can create a better educational life for the future. I’m
