When establishing communication, an aircraft shall use the full call signs of both
stations
5. .If at any time a pilot GA - 380 receives a clearance or instruction with which he
cannot comply, he should advise the controller using the phrase ‘UNABLE’
(COMPLY) and give the reason(s) (e.g. due to aircraft weight)
6. GA - 380 has radio check to SOETA Tower on 118.3 and reply by Tower that radio
checked readable but with difficulty. What phraseology can be applied?
7. Where no ATIS is provided the pilot may ask for current aerodrome information
before requesting start up.

8. Taxi instructions issued by a controller will always contain a clearance limit, which
is the point at which the aircraft must stop, unless further permission to proceed is
given. For departing aircraft, the clearance limit will normally be the holding point
of the runway in use, but it may be any other position on the aerodrome depending on
the prevailing traffic. Taxi clearances should, wherever possible, be noted down by
pilots

10. A ‘final’ report is made when an aircraft has turned onto final approach. If the turn
on is made at a distance greater than 4 NM from touchdown a ‘long final’ report is
