Lesson Overview:
You have learned in previous grade level that the Philippines is along the Pacific ring of fire. It is situated at the
boundaries of two tectonic plates-the Philippine Sea plate and the Eurasian plate- both plates dive beneath the
archipelago along the deep trenches along its east and west seaboard. This explains why the Philippines is an ideal site
for earthquake and volcanic activities.
As you move on to this activity, you will be able to describe the different types of volcanoes and volcanic
eruption.
Procedure:
1. Using a Philippine map, plot the locations of the
given volcanoes on the table below. Assign colors
for each volcano and indicate this on your legend.
2. Answer the guide questions given and write it in
your separate sheet of paper.

Q1. Are all the volcanoes found in the same
location?
Q2. Which of the volcanoes has the greatest
number of eruptions? Least
