What is This Module is About?

This particular module is about comprehending visual images and linking


them to associating spoken and written words. This skill determines and provides the
students the ability in understanding and grasping the information from the material
that has been viewed. In this module, you will be loearning how to grasp and share
ideas of information from the images and videos that are given in the succeeding
activities.

What’s In

Before we begin our lesson, let us have some recall of our previous lesson
about the story entitled “The Railway Side” By Alice Meynell.

With your own words, write a short summary about the important events from
the story. Copy the bubble in your activity/journal notebook and write your answer
inside it.

A writer usually arranges his ideas to let the readers follow the flow of the
lesson presented. Hence, if you are asked to explain and share your knowledge from
the information taken from any material you view, be it videos, images or pictures, or
text, you must know how to organize your thoughts to effectively convey your ideas.

What I Can Do

In viewing materials, whether video or text, taking down notes is very, very
important. In taking down notes, you must pick out the important ideas or points
presented. Thus, when you view materials you also listen closely to what is being
said as well as take note of unfamiliar words. Then you can look up those unfamiliar
words in the dictionary so you have a complete picture of the content of the material
viewed.

Activity 8: WRITE ME IN!

Go back to the previous activities where you viewed video clips. Choose one
(1) video clip. As you watch the video, take note of important points. After watching
the video, summarize the information you gathered in 3-5 sentences. Do this in your
journal notebook.
