Narrative Report on Creating Flyer


for Fund-Raising Campaign

Last August 26, 2022 we had a face-to-face class in our major subject, Technical
Writing. Ms. Marry Ann Bullagay, our instructor, given us a triad tasks to create a flier for
fund-raising campaign to help the Tanolong National High School as the beneficiary of
the campaign. We also wrote a narrative report that shows how we conceptualized the
FRC and how we made the flyer. We are instructed to provide pictures for
documentation. We completed the tasks for two days.

In the morning of August 28,2022, we begin to brainstorm and generate ideas for
selecting a good concept for our fund-raising campaign. The campaign’s concept should
be realistic and attainable for us to do as college students. As everyone exchange
ideas, we come up to with the idea of selling some desserts or sweets. Selling
fundraising food products is an excellent way to raise money. We think that
purchasers/supporters love receiving a little something in return for the generous
donation they give to your campaign. Therefore, we agreed to make Yema, Pastillas,
and Graham balls. We already had an experience making and selling those
sweets/desserts when we were in elementary and high school.

suggestions and integrate them in our flyer.

The next day, August 29,2022, we started to make our flyer. We decided to use Canva
as a platform where we can edit our flyer. First, we search for layouts of flyers on the
internet as a guide to our work. Second, we downloaded pictures and clip arts that we
are going to insert into our flyer to make it more child-friendly. Finally, we are about to
edit our flyer. We shared our ideas and thoughts about the layout, designs, fonts, and
colors for our flyer to be more presentable and to make sure that we will create the flyer
that we want. One of the group members shared a link where anyone can edit our flyer.
We do some adjustment for selecting colors. That is why we are able to emphasize and
highlight the texts if necessary. It was exactly 5 p.m. when we were done editing it.

According to studies, students grades and classroom behavior improve, and their
excitement for studying increases when they have all the school supplies, they need. So
we decided to organize a fundraising campaign entitled "Homemade Sweets: Your
Sweet Purchase Matters: Buy and Make Children Smile." to raise and collect money to
buy school supplies and distribute it for the students of Tanolong National High School.
Through these simple actions, we will make sure that beneficiaries will become happy
and we will leave a sweet smile on their faces. Making the flyer about the said campaign
had help us to exercise our editing skills and explore more. It is challenging for us since
we are just in average level of editing and barely to create a flyer. Above all, having
open conversations, suggestions, and cooperation, made us to create a great flyer. We
put love and effort within it and we had so much fun doing so.
