V. Rationale:

Introduction
The Republic Act No. 10533 otherwise known as Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013
contains subjects designed to address the physical, intellectual, psychosocial, and cultural needs of
learners, by providing a venue for the gifted and talented learners in all levels of basic education. Two
of which are MAPEH and Contemporary Philippine Arts from the Region which focuses on teaching
students the importance of conserving and promoting arts, culture, and literature.
Both subjects geared towards enhancing learners’ creative abilities and exploring their talents.
Moreover, enhancing their skills and talents will help inspire, nurture, challenge, educate and
empower young artists in engaging artistic and cultural experiences from the province.

Project Background
This pandemic has brought challenges to the teachers in providing assessments in engaging
the students to be productive learners. Hence, learners are struggling to enhance their skills and talents

in the forms of arts due to lack of internet connectivity, learning platforms, and limited or no available
learning tools at home.
In line with this, the Panganiban National High School aims to provide learning support to its
students in achieving the most essential skills required in the MAPEH and CPAR subjects. Thus, the
proponents initiate the project entitled, ARTE: Suporta para sa Paghurma sa Talento nin mga Kaakian
“A Supplemental Workshop to Enhance the Artistic Skills of PNHS Students Amidst the Pandemic”.
With this activity, the students will be given an opportunity to enhance their skills in the forms of arts
in the new normal setting. This was also constructed to continue what SIKLAB Theater Arts project
has started in producing young artists in light of COVID-19 Pandemic. Through this project, we can
be able to develop competent youth via workshops towards achieving competencies in their subjects.

Objectives of the Activity:

a. Provide different techniques to expand their knowledge in the forms of arts.
b. Appreciate the importance of arts as a form of expression and ornamentation.
c. Enhance the artistic skills of students through workshops.

The project is open for the Panganiban NHS students in all grade levels to enhance their skills
in the areas of performing arts. The expected participants per session are 10-15 students. This is to
minimize the exposure to risks of COVID 19. The proponents of this project acknowledge the
apprehensions of conducting limited face to face interactions but rest assured that this activity will
follow and observe the precautionary health measures of the DOH and IATF protocols guided with
the DepEd Order 15, s. 2020, along with the parent’s consents.
VI. Project Costs
A. Project Budget - The given budget for the proposed project is estimated to be 3,620 pesos.
The budget will be allotted in buying those identified art materials and snacks for the resource
speakers.
