4 Project Description PROJECT PROPOSAL IN THE CONDUCT

DURING SUMMER FOR K TO 12 BASIC EDUCATION
PROGRAM

Schools in Calapan City have been implementing

reading programs activities to support the child’s learning.
Still, the Phil IPI revealed that there are still a number of
pupils under frustration level of reading.
Since the school wants every pupil a reader, a
summer reading program will be implemented to
strengthen and intensify its campaign by explicitly
teaching and giving individualized instruction to identified
struggling readers to help them cope with their reading
difficulties.
The teachers were consulted during a meeting on
Feb. 21, 2020 about the conduct of the Remedial and
Advancement Classes During Summer for the K to 12
Basic Education Program. The school shall have an
exhibit of storybooks, reading resources and other
supplementary learning resources necessary for reading
proficiency among pupils in the school. The program will
offer an opportunity for teachers and pupils to enjoy the
teaching-learning process during vacation. It is designed
to help struggling readers which will give them the chance
to develop and increase their level and proficiency in
reading across learning areas through explicit teaching.
During the camp, the program will be incorporated with
activities and games that will make them understand that
learning isn’t hard at all. Through this, learning will be
realized regardless of sex and economic status.
Furthermore, the parent’s participation in the program
will also be maximized because it is where they feel most
confident, happy and supported.
Constraints like time, distance and financial costs of
the participants were properly addressed as well.
The project will build and strengthen the commitment
of everyone to take action in providing quality education
for all.
Monitoring of the project implementation and impact
shall be done by the school heads and the personnel of
the School Management Monitoring and Evaluation Unit
through online and onsite assessment and FGDs.
The period of implementation will be on April 13 –
May 22, 2020.
