LEARNING GOAL: Students will learn to draw EG (Elmwood Giants) from 1-point perspective

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

By the end of this lesson, students should be able to:

 Define and identify key terms such as parallel, perpendicular, vertical, horizontal
 Identify parts of the drawing such as horizon line, vanishing point, converging lines
 Draw the letters EG from 1-point perspective
 Understand how to draw a converging line from a round shape

INTRODUCTION:

 Review 1-point perspective

 Introduce students to topic
2

BODY:
 Finished example of EG perspective exercise
 Perspective review
o Horizon line
o Vanishing point
o Converging lines
 Key terms
o Parallel, perpendicular, horizonal
 3D review
o 3 dimensions -> length, width, height
 Intro to EG
o We know that converging lines come from corners and go to the vanishing point – what do you do
with curved shapes?
o Show students how to find the curve point
 Tutorial
o Hand out template and have students follow along with projector

CONCLUSION/SUMMARY:

 Summarize the lesson (recap)

 Ask questions to ensure student understanding
o Point out objects and ask students what they are
o How do you find the point for a round object? Where do you draw the line?

EVALUATION: Assignment will be graded.

ASSIGNMENT: Complete the EG exercise on 1-point perspective.
