TIGSO (AGAWAN BASE)

Game Set-up
The game of tigso, also known as "agawan base," is played by participants who are
divided into two teams, or "bases," each of which has a designated base protector. One squad
must try to capture or tag the opposing group's base, which can be any item, such as a boulder,
to divert attention from their own goal. The other members of the organization may leave the
base to capture members of the opposing group or seize their base. Before members of that
group start to call you names, if you touch your opponent's base first, your group will win since
you have taken their base.
The objective of the game is to capture the opposing team's base by tagging the mark.
Meanwhile, each team's players defend their base by capturing the other team's players.
Crossing the boundary dividing the playing area can result in a player being caught. When a
player is taken, he is required to proceed to the base's mark and remains there. Getting tagged
by a teammate releases a player who has been captured.

Materials to be Used: 2 large objects (preferably stones) that serve as a base for each team.
Gameplay Mechanics:
1. To indicate that they are at home, every player on each side must walk onto their
respective bases. This is incredibly significant and essential to the game.
2. The first player or players to leave the base will either become the hunted or the target.
This can merely be a ruse to get the opposing team's players to assault. The players
must then sprint back to their base, step on it, then race back to chase and tag the
attacker, since he or they will now become the prey, as soon as the opponent or
opponents get closer. The first person to be tagged will turn into an enemy team
prisoner.
3. The first prisoner or “bulad” will be forced to jump as high as they can before being
allowed to lean and stretch their arms and legs to the side where rescue is most likely to
occur. Should there be more than one prisoner, the next one will reach out and grasp or
clasp the hand of the prisoner(s) next to him/her. The prisoner or prisoners will remain
where they are while waiting for help.
4. The game continues after each capture. As there will be fewer people remaining to pose
as attackers or man the base as a result of losing a player or players to the enemy's
side, the team's base will now be exposed and simple to conquer. On the other side, a
lengthy line of inmates will make it simple to free them because the kidnappers can't
keep an eye on their victims closely. One can appear to attack, but one can only run to
save a teammate or teammates. A teammate may liberate all of the inmates by just
touching one of them.

5. The game ends when one team captures the others' base or if all of the team members
are captured.

Gameplay Rules
1. The first player to leave the base becomes the target or the prey. He can always be
tagged, but he cannot be tagged.

2. Players must constantly be cautious of who leaves their bases first to avoid disputes. To
eliminate any doubt about who is the attacker or who is the target, it is a good idea to
concentrate on one or two opponents and track their movements.

3. A prisoner will be the first person to be apprehended or tagged. To cater to the prisoner,
the game temporarily pauses.

4. To minimize commotion and for the safety of the students, the players are not allowed to
leave outside the gym premises.
