Sets and Its
Operation
WE'VE LEARNED THE FOUNDER OR WHO
STARTED SET THEORY. (GEORGE CANTOR)

Set is a well-defined collection of objects, set can

also be a not well-defined.
Correct way of writing a set
The three description of sets (verbal description,
listing/roster method, and set builder notation)
Difference between Equal Sets and Equivalent
Sets;
Identifying the difference of Universal Sets and
Subsets

REAL NUMBERS AND ITS PROPERTIES
We've learned that Real Numbers is very useful to our everyday lives, real numbers have so many contribution
to our ancestor.
Subsets of Real Numbers
Use of "The Real Number System"
Natural Number(N)
Whole Numbers(W)
Integers(Z)
Rational Numbers(Q)
Rational Numbers can be/is a repeating or a terminating numbers
Irrational Numbers(Q') is the opposite of rational numbers, a non-terminating
and non-repeating
The infinite decimal of a pi
REAL NUMBERS AND ITS PROPERTIES
Closure Property of Addition (4+6=10)
Closure Property of Multiplication (4*4=16)
Commutative Property of Addition (2+8=8+2; 10=10)
Associative Property of Addition (3+10)+6=3+(10+6); 13+6=3+16; 19=19)
Associative Property of Multiplication(4*6)*2=4*(6*2); 24*2=4*12; 48=48)
Distributive Property of Multiplication over Addition/ Subtraction (6*(5+3)=6(5)+6(3);
6*8=30+18; 48=48)
Identity Property of Addition (The identity element of Addition is zero (0)
Identity Property of Multiplication (The identity element of Multiplication is one (1)
Inverse Property of Addition (The inverse element of Addition is the opposite of the
number; 2*(-2)=0)
Inverse Property of Multiplication (The inverse element of Multiplication is the
reciprocal of the given number; 5*1/5=1)

INTEGERS AND OTHER

RATIONAL NUMBERS
We've learned that Integers are less complicated kind
of mathematical topic. And they are relatable to us.
Because just like humans, integers consists of real
numbers, negative and positive, including zero.
Compared in real life, people are indeed real; not just
the optimistic ones, there are also those who are
pessimistic that are truly negative most times; and there
are those who care less of the world and the people
around them. Knowing integers, I also realized that in
life, the more you increase in negative number, the
lesser value you have.
SQUARE ROOT OF RATIONAL AND
IRRATIONAL NUMBERS

When a number is multiplied to itself it would

become a perfect square and square roots can be
used to measure things.
FRACTIONS,
DECIMALS, AND
PERCENT
Different Kinds of Fractions (proper fraction,
improper fraction and mixed fraction)
Operations with Fractions
Addition and Subtraction Fractions
Multiplication of Fractions
Division of Fractions

K-keep C-change F-flip
SCIENTIFIC
NOTATION
We've learned that Scientific Notation is a
way of expressing numbers that are too
large or too small to be conveniently
written in decimal form. Can be reffered to
as scientific form or standard index form.
Thank You!

Mathematics
Without numbers it is hard
to count objects, because
numbers are everywhere. We
use them everyday to make
our lives easier and without
it, things would be very hard
to do.
