- a serenade traditionally sung by a man to a
woman.
- it is being sang with feelings and is usually
accompanied by a guitar
- it uses Duple or quadruple meter in danza
menor or habanero tempo.

- It is a dance from Batanes, Ilocos, and Tarlac
and parts of Visayas.
- Originated from the spanish word Fandango
- The dance was popular in the 19 th century
among elite of Manila

- Originated from a Bohemian dance
- The tempo is quick duple meter while the

- The melody is characterized by a smooth,
flowing and gentle rhythm with dramatic
intervals.
- It conveys selfless and spiritual attitude,

- Is a Filipino marching band that uses

PANGKAT KAWAYAN
- Is known as the Singing Bamboos of the

Instruments:

1. Angklung
- consists of two to four bamboo-frame,
bound with rattan cords or a bamboo-
rattle tubes attached to a bamboo frame.

pitch. When struck, each angklung
represents a note and is turned to octave.

2. Bumbong
- Also known as bamboo tube.
- Each bumbong represents one note to
produce the sound. It has to be blown

3. Talunggating
- This is also known as Bamboo
Marimba
- It is made from bamboo that follows
the musical scale and style of a typical
xylophone.
