Course: BSEd 3- SOCIAL STUDIES Professor : Dr. MARCIA CORAZON P. RICO Term: 1st Semester, A.Y. 2021-2022 SSEd 20: RESEARCH IN SOCIAL STUDIES Conducting Research in the New Normal: Opportunities and Challenges for Pre Service Teachers BY THE GRACE OF GOD, EVERYTHING IS WORTH IT. Without a doubt, this is one of the learning experiences that has greatly enhanced our appreciation for research. After struggling for more than two months, my team and I overcame the most difficult obstacles and broke our sleep schedule the week before the day. We did, in fact, overcome a difficult challenge. Making our proposals was a little difficult because the team and I used our secret weapon to achieve this goal: our teamwork. One example is that when collecting these materials for the second chapter, I found that due to limited sources and of course they are out of date, it is difficult for me to find relevant literature and research. And, of course, my team will help me write out how to improve my work, especially the correct research tools and materials to ensure quality. Again, regardless of the hurdles and problems I faced, I always pushed myself to complete the task and provide a solid result. After all, there are many challenges along the way. At the end of the day, it's all worth it to push over your boundaries, pressures, and hardships. Prior to the actual proposal defense, we even studied each chapter by chapter because we were able to directly focus on the main significance of our research. We just jot down notes and even key points per chapter, because that was our secret on how can we defend for proposal defense. Likewise, right before, I served as a lay minister, on December 8, the feast of the Immaculate Conception, for asking for her intercession and of course, GOD’S GUIDANCE AND THE GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, which is the GIFT OF PIETY AND WISDOM. Finally, the defense was first hesitant, but by the time we arrived, it had already begun, and all of that will have vanished, and you will be confident to respond if you truly understand the subject. Teamwork is very important, so just help everyone who is being defended. When we're having a rough time, we can really speak out. At the very least, and hope it was useful. We'd like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to everyone who assisted and guided us in making our Research Proposal Defense a success. Even our Ate’s: Ate Tin Gipit, Ate Delle Gudao, and Ate Gayle Evasco: we can't thank you enough for your generosity, but it's greatly appreciated. Without the help of people like you, we will not be able to achieve our goals. First of all, we thank God for the rich benefits that God has brought us, especially the tenacity and confidence in the face of defensive obstacles. Sir Edison, our ever-supportive and joyful thesis adviser, comes in second. Finally, thank you to our panelists, Mam Norms, Mam Jaucian, and Sir Lorente, for endorsing our planned research and assisting us every step of the way to make it more substantive and tangible. Likewise, for you, Madam Rico, our Research Professor, we are deeply humbled and thankful for giving us the knowledge on how to produce our good research.
