The line graph illustrates the amount of carbon dioxide which was emitted in four countries in

the period of 40 years. Overall, among the given four countries, the United Kingdom was always

dominant.

Analyzing the line graph in detail, in 1967, about 11 metric tones of carbon dioxide were

emitted in the UK; however, in Sweden it was around 8.5. After 1967 till 2007, the unit of

carbon dioxide dropped gradually, from approximately 11 metric tonnes to 9 metric tonnes. As

for Sweden, after a sharp rise in 1975, a dramatic decline was observed till the end of the given

period; in 2007 more or less 5.7 metric tonnes.

As far as Italy and Portugal are concerned, in 1967 the amount of carbon dioxide emissions was

nearly 3 times more in Italy. It is interesting to point out that in both mentioned countries there

was growth till 1997, reaching to about 7.8 and 5.5 metric tones, respectively. In contrast to this,

between 1997 and 2007, it remained constant.
