Construction Management
"Construction management is a professional service that
provides a project's owner(s) with effective management of
the project's schedule, cost, quality, safety, scope, and
function.
Construction management works for all projects delivery
methods. Construction Manager's (CMs) responsibility is to
the owner and to a successful project."
- Construction Management Association of America (CMAA)

Construction Manager
Construction management is the process of overseeing a
building project.

Construction managers are professionals who supervise

the construction stage of a new project.

Their duties can include ordering construction materials,

delegating tasks to a construction team and collaborating
with subcontractors.

manage a team and check for quality and safety during
the building process.

Project Management
Project management is the application of processes,
methods, skills, knowledge and experience to achieve
specific project objectives according to the project
acceptance criteria within agreed parameters. Project
management has final deliverables that are constrained to a
finite timescale and budget.

Project Management
Project management is the use of specific knowledge,
skills, tools and techniques to deliver something of value to
people.

The development of software for an improved business

process, the construction of a building, the relief effort after
a natural disaster, the expansion of sales into a new
geographic market—these are all examples of projects.
AR. ARJEE LOUIE DC. JIMENEZ, uap, rmp
Project Management
The main difference between project managers and
construction managers is the scope. Project managers
typically are higher up the food chain in an organization and
have broader responsibilities.

AR. ARJEE LOUIE DC. JIMENEZ, uap, rmp

Project managers typically don’t deal with construction
workers, equipment, and materials, except to sign off on them.
It’s the construction manager’s job to determine what their
needs are in those areas, develop a proposal, and submit it to
the project manager for approval.

AR. ARJEE LOUIE DC. JIMENEZ, uap, rmp

The project manager will weigh the costs against the budget
and may ask the construction manager for justification of the
expenses, but ultimately they rely on the construction
manager to figure those things out.
