1.1 Surveying

Fix station PI. At 100-200m intervals for reference of the center line of the road.
Where there is a horizontal curve or vertical curve the interval of the PI will be Km 0.20 7,170.00 1,429.29

Setting out

Fix center line of the road by putting pegs at 20m intervals including setting of
horizontal and vertical curve s. set out also cross-section of the road at 20m
intervals or less as convenient, if terrain is very ragged, by placing pegs on
center, two sides and drainage lines of the road as well as following design
patterns of the cobblestone. Pegs for cobblestone roads are in most cases made Km 0.20 7,170.00 1,429.29
from pieces of reinforcement steel for accuracy and strength for driving them
deep into the ground. The number of pegs along the cross-section of the road
ranges from 7 to 13 depending on the pattern of the cobblestone and requirement
of side drains.

2. Earth work

2.1 Clearing and grubbing

Remove big stones, grass and other obstacles within width of the road reserve to
allow movement of workers for smooth surveying and setting out works. The 1,778.97

location as directed by the engineer.

2.2 Top soil excavation

Excavate the top 20cm soil to remove the soil with grass & organic layer of the

The excavated material will be deposited at a place directed by the Engineer.

2.3 Bulk excavation

Excavate 40cm depth to remove unwantd soil as directed by the Engineer, to


prepare the level of the road fixed by the Engineer or as per the road design to m3 797.37 30.00 23,921.16
the specific site.

2.5 Backfill using sub-base material

Supply, spread and compact 40cm, or more of sub-base granular material or


gravel sub –base as directed by the Engineer, to raise the level of the road fixed 150,822.91

4 .Curbstone
4.1

Supply and fix 40*20cm shaped curbstone, 30 to 40cm long each, between
pavement and side walk, along both sides of the road, storm water way, with a
cement mortar base of 1:3 mix and backed with c-15 concrete on the external 45,818.66

mortar of 1:3 mix. Additional hand tools for the activity are measuring box (for

Supply and fix 20*20cm shaped Big stone, 20cm long each, along trasverse
direction of the pavement with in the interval of every 20m to make the cobble
stone pavement tough with a cement mortar base of 1:3 mix and backed with c-
15 concrete on the both side of the big stone, for support, as shown in the design ml 91.20 81.46 7,429.34
and fill joints with cement mortar of 1:3 mix. Additional hand tools for the
activity are measuring box (for sand and crushed aggregate),bucket, plasterer
knife,etc.

5.Storm Water Drainage

supply and fix 50*30cm shaped curvedstone side drains to drain rain water
