Ans. PPE helps its user,by protecting from accidents and personal injuries

Ans.I will stop them from doing the work and ask them to wear proper
PPE,and, that it is for their own safety.

Ans.workplace like workshops,crew changing lockers,PPE store,each crew is

6.What will you do if you do not have the proper PPE to do a job?
Ans.I will ask Safety Officer or Crew Incharge for proper PPE,before starting the
job

Ans.

3.At night,Anchor station must have Good Lighting(must be well illuminated)

Ans.
1.Wear proper PPE including safety harness,fall preventer device and safety

Ans.Enclosed space is a fully Covered space,which is not normally entered ,due
to lack of oxygen,presence of toxic gas,presence of flammable gas,no proper
lighting,no proper ventilation

13.What are the hazards associated with enclosed space entry?


Ans. Hazards associated with enclosed space are, lack of oxygen,presence of
toxic gases,presence of flammable gases,no proper lights,no proper ventilation

14.Will you enter a hold of a bulk carrier immediately after opening? If No.
Why?
Ans.No ,i will not enter ,because i will treat it as enclosed space for my safety
because of hazards such as lack of oxygen,presence of toxic gases,presence of

Ans. Risk assessment helps the person to identify risk or hazards involved in a

Ans.I will find out the size of the rope used for making the heaving line in
the mooring plan.The Required length of the heaving line is approximately
30 metres and diameter is 12 mm.

Ans.We will use the tail block for ease of hauling and lowering by
oneself,when working aloft or working overside.

Ans.Weight test is done on Tail or Lizard block, to make sure ,that the block
is properly secured and can take the weight of the person.

one turn on the horn,for lowering the stage.

1.Check the condition of hardwood steps and spreaders,rubber rungs for
damage and for presence of grease,oil and paint.
2. Check the side rope condition for reduction in

3.Check man ropes and stanchions are in good condition.

19.How will you check pilot ladder after rigging ?


Ans.officer incharge will go 3-4 steps on the ladder ,to check if ladder is
properly secured and resting firmly against shipside.

Ans.Pilot ladder is used for embarkation and disembarkation of pilot or
Port officials,when the freeboard of the ship is less than 9 metres.

ladder after use.

for embarking and disembarking the pilot ,when freeboard is more than 9
metres.
