Reading is an essential and useful skill in education, knowledge, occupation, and practice, especially in

today's world where information about reading will help us. It can be said that reading is essential to life
because reading is not just cooking, words and commands. Rather, it is a tenant of knowledge because it
helps us understand the meaning, character, and cause of new ideas from the old ways.

One of the concerns of ACCS students of University of Makati is how to improve their reading
speed comprehension skills which is a basic requirement when they enter the call center
industry. It is necessary therefore for the teachers to provide as many opportunities as possible
to enhance and teach these students the skills or strategies they will need to improve their
reading comprehension.
