Lesson 2 – Transition Units

The purpose of “transition units” is to convert the block pleats into the smaller, half-unit-wide
pleats which are used to make the scales. Those that are farther from the lower edge I’ll refer to
as “tall” transition units – in this guide, they are done on the white side. Those done on the
colored side will be one unit closer to the lower edge – I’ll refer to them as the “short” transition
units.
