INTRODUCTION

Used Coffee Grounds do not have to be wasteful, because coffee grounds have a lot of
purposes. But the world’s love for coffee means that universally we drink over billion cups of
coffee every day. But once that coffee has been used, what happens to all of those spent
grounds?
According to Hector Nures, a researcher, and ambassador of BeKoffee, 75% of spent
coffee grounds ends up to land filled while the remaining 25% is used to make an agricultural
product like fertilizer. But the world’s love for coffee is unlikely to decrease, so it is crucial for
refined waste to be recycled, renew, and reuse this byproduct. The available sampling
technique that we used for this research is Purposive Sampling, it is a type of sampling that is
also known as a judgment. It is a type of sampling; it involves the researcher using their
expertise to select a sample that is most useful to the purpose of the research.
According to S. Sports (2021), Most bugs are very sensitive to smells. Since coffee grounds have
a very powerful effect, they are a great repellent against these insects. As stated by the Environmental
Protection Agency, coffee grounds are strong when they are burned. The authority of MosquitoReviews
(2022) also said that caffeine has different outcomes depending on the insect it is introduced to. For
mosquitoes, caffeine stops mosquitoes from swimming up to the surface and dispatches them before
they can become adults.

You can control them with coffee grounds, a free-from-danger and powerful way to keep pests
away. Not only do they fight off mosquitoes, but also other insects such as wasps and bees. Most bugs
have a powerful sense of smell. Coffee grounds are very strong and even more potent once they are
burned. The strong scent and “burning slowly effect” will fight off pests and keep them away.
Additionally, smoke is generally likely to danger, so bugs will look elsewhere for shelter, as stated by
(DeathWishCoffee, 2022).

Coffee grounds are very potent and even more potent once they are burned. The strong scent and
“smoldering effect” will fight off pests and keep them away. Additionally, smoke is generally
associated with danger, so bugs will look elsewhere for shelter (DeathWishCoffee, 2022). The
trick is to burn ground coffee or coffee grounds. Under the action of heat, the coffee grounds

emit an odor that immediately repels any insects. Mosquitoes being particularly sensitive to
odors, they will not approach you any more. This coffee grounds recipe is effective even on the
most voracious mosquitoes like tiger mosquitoes. (Oliver Adey, 2021)
