Essay
• A minimum of two persuasive essays will be written
during the whole semester, one for the first and one for
the second term.
• The students should develop the following graded
products: An outline, a draft and an essay
OTHER ISSUES:

 Students will have 2 weekly sessions of 2 hours each.

 The use of the mobile phone is strictly for academic activities.

 Students cannot eat or drink anything (except water) in class.

 English should be used in class to communicate with the teacher, and for
communication between students.

 Students are expected to be respectful at all times of their teacher and classmates.
OTHER ISSUES:

 We are going to use Zoom for the classes. It is mandatory for you to have your
camera on when there are evaluated activities. We’ll also use Kahoot, Padlet,
Flipgrid, among other tools.

 Academic honesty is expected. Plagiarism will be penalized. (Reglamento 2421,

Art 3).

 Students must check Aula virtual on a daily basis to comply with the assignments

 Conversation club (CC) sessions and attendance to the AWC is strongly

recommended. The teacher can give you some credit for attending minimum three
(3) times during each term. The extra points of the CC will be given to the
practical component and of the AWC to the practice hour of writing.
OTHER ISSUES:
• Attendance is mandatory and if the student has more than 40% absences, he/she will
automatically fail the course.
• Class activities are graded. If you cannot attend a class you must tell your teacher in
advance. You can only recover that grade if you justify the absence (with evidence).
• The classes will be recorded and will be shared through Microsoft Stream.
• The teacher will gladly help you with the questions or doubts you have through Aula
Virtual or an email.
• It is recommended to create a WhatsApp group so you can be communicated among
yourselves. One student can give the teacher his/her phone number as well.
• If the teacher calls your name more than 3 times and there’s no response because you’re
not present in the online meeting, you will have zero in the class activity, even if you did
it.
OTHER ISSUES:
For the oral and written evaluations, the students have to use 2 devices (PC, laptop,
cell phone or tablet).
Device 1: Used to take the exam in Aula virtual
Device 2: Used to join the ZOOM session and must have a camera.
The device with the camera must be placed at one side of the student, so the teacher
is able to clearly see the student´s environment and the other device´s screen.
Please follow the examples provided in the pictures below.
