GRETTINGS Good morning Ma’am and Sir!

 First, I would like to welcome everyone. I am Carlo L.
Balanlay your registered trainer in this qualification
Masonry NCII I already prepared the equipment and the
facilities for the presentation today’s learning session.
The smart TV and my computer, which I already
connected using HDMI cord for the power point
presentation and for the film viewing.
 I also posted the progress and achievement chart to
monitor learner’s performance.
 And also, I already have the forms to determine the
learner’s characteristics such as Attendance Sheet,
Data gathering Instruments for learner’s
characteristics, Self-assessment check, and written test
for the completeness of the resources in this training
program.
 Aside from those, I also set-up my workshop using the
nine components or areas of a competency-based
facilities.
1. The practical work area where it is located on my left side,
it is where the learners acquire the skills and knowledge
components of the competencies prescribed by the standard.
2. The computer Learning area where information
technology is used; and
3. Distance learning area where learners can access the
instruction on and off the workshop area are located on my
right side.
4. Right there the quality control where the outputs are
assessed in accordance with performance criteria.
5. the learning resource area considered as the heart of
practical work area or it I where the cblm is found; and
6. the contextual learning area where the acquired
knowledge, the science, mathematics and English are
provided to the learner are both located at the back of this
workshop area.
7. the next one is the training resource area where the TR or
the training regulation and the CBC or competency-based
curriculum are located together with other CBT documents of
the trainer is located beside trainer’s table.
8. the institutional assessment area where the completion of
competencies of the learner is assessed Is located right here.
9. Lastly, the support service area which provides value
adding competencies from other qualification is located at the
back of this workshop area.

 Okay so I have here your pre-test, this is a 30 items
multiple choice kind of test. We are conducting this to
determine your prior knowledge for this qualification.
Please read and follow the instructions carefully. I’ll give
you 15 minutes to take this.

 Before we start the training session, let me give you first
a brief orientation regarding CBT or competency-based
training Principles. As a learner, it is a must that you
know what is CBT.

1. the Training is based on curriculum developed from the
competency standards. learning is based on the competency-
based curriculum which means that we will pattern our
training to the CBC that we have.
2. Learning is competency-based or modular in structure. –
this means that every unit of competency has the
corresponding modules where learners will learn required
knowledge.
3. Training is individualized or self-paced. – This means that
the leaners will choose whether to finish the training fast or
not.
4. Training is based on work that must be performed.
5. training materials are directly related to the competency
standards and the curriculum.
6. Assessment of the learners is based on the collection of
evidence of work performance based on industry or
organizational required standards.
7. training is based on and off the job components.
8. the system allows recognition of prior learning. – learners
and workers can have prior learning recognized.
9. the system allows for learners to enter and exit programs at
any different time and level and to receive an award of
competency at any point; and lastly,

Training 1. Written Examinations- this is to assist the required
knowledge learned by the learners.

-Practical & about this qualification.
Institutional 3. Lastly, Oral Questioning – the decision will be based
on the role of evidence and four dimensions of
competency.

 And as you can see, we also have


Achievement chart – to monitor your daily activities as
a learner; and
Progress Chart – to record your achievement in each
unit of competency in this qualification.

 Learners, as your trainer, I am to guide, facilitate and


check you works and evaluate your performance in
accordance to the prescribed standards.

plaster finishes. I’ll be back after 5 minutes.

Guidelines in Safety and Health in Plastering work after
reading please answer the self-check 2.2-1. I’ll be back

assessment, the written examination, demonstration,
and oral questioning which I mentioned to you earlier.
