CHAPTER I
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Introduction
A mobile application is a type of application software, most referred to as an app,
designed to run on a mobile device, such as a smartphone or tablet computer. Mobile apps also
serve to provide consumers with services that are close to those accessed on PCs. It is a computer
program or software application designed to run on a mobile device such as a phone, tablet, or
watch. Applications can also be installed manually. Mobile apps were originally offered for
general productivity and information retrieval, including email, calendar, contacts, the stock
market and weather information. However, public demand and the availability of developer tools
drove rapid expansion into other categories, such as those handled by desktop application
software packages.
Grocer Easy is an example of innovative, life hack and quadrable kind of application.
According to John Baker (2004), application software meets the exact needs of the user. Since
they are designed specifically with one purpose in mind, the user knows that they need to use one
specific software to accomplish their task. This proves that many people are interested ang
engaged in adapting applications like Grocer Easy. Furthermore, this kind of application should
be downloaded by the customers and they needed to sign-in. The application requires that the
customers should use their real name and address. If not, their account will not be verified.
Grocer Easy specifically serves dry goods, these goods are guaranteed and should meet the
standards of the customers. The customers can order by just clicking simply the ‘Add to Basket”
below the photo of the product they want to buy.
Grocer Easy will approve their orders if they purchase at least five (5) quantity of
products and the G-Easy riders will deliver it to their respective addresses. The application has
two (2) mode of payments, it is cash on delivery or cash on GEC (G-Easy Card), the customers
should avail this card so this is where they can pay their orders. In this kind of life hack, the
customers are safe because in the new normal social distancing is a must. It makes the ordering
process easier. The company has better customer and order management. Also, it can monitor the
expenses incurred in real-time. Many shoppers avoid buying in bulk because it means taking up
extra cart space and navigating the weight of bulky packages. Online shopping for home delivery
makes buying in bulk much easier, simply add products to your virtual shopping cart and G-Easy
riders will deliver right to your doorstep.

Demand and Supply Analysis

Market Gap
A gap in the market is an opportunity to make and sell something that is not available yet.
However, consumers would like to have it. The ‘gap’ refers to the difference between the supply
and demand for that product. In other words, it means a consumer-need that supply has not yet
met. For companies, a gap in the market represents an opportunity for it to widen its customer
base. It can achieve market penetration by identifying a gap in the market and filling it.

Financial Statement
Financial statements provide a snapshot of a corporation's financial health at a particular
point in time, giving insight into its performance, operations, cash flow, and overall conditions.
Shareholders need them to make informed decisions about their equity investments, especially

information about the financial position, performance and cash flows of an entity. It is used by
the users to evaluate the business function with respect to financing, investing and operating the
activities to arrive at sound economic decisions.
Financial statements are intended to be understandable by readers who have "a
reasonable knowledge of business and economic activities and accounting and who are willing to
study the information diligently. A basic set of financial statements is consisted of an Income
Statement, which shows the several elements that enter the computation of net profit or net loss
over a period of time; a Statement of Financial Position, which is a summary of the assets,
liabilities and equity of the business at a specific date and a Statement of Cash Flows, which
provides information about cash inflows and outflows during an accounting period as well as the
net change in cash flows the operating, investing and financing activities in a manner that

known as Balance Sheet comprises its assets, liabilities and equity at a particular time. It pertains
to the liquidity, solvency, financial structure and capacity for adaptation of the company.
Projected Income Statement
An income projection statement is a formal document prepared by finance or accounting
officers within a company. Income projection statements look at the monies the business will
gain over a specific period, normally one year, minus anticipated expenses for that period.
Income statement to track revenues and expenses so that you can determine the operating
performance of your business over a period of time.
It is impossible to prove accuracy, without spending a ton of money on auditors
scrutinizing each and every transaction and journal entry that went into the statements.
No business in their right mind would do this and the auditors and accountants would wind up
killing each other for all the work that is being generated for no good reason. (Garrick Saito,
