"above" in the previous sentence cannot be a preposition, because in Arabic all prepositions
have to have an "after preposition" after them. You can't have a preposition without
anything after it. So, then what is "above" in this sentence? It's a word that tells us the place
of the verb; therefore, it's red.
Rule: In Arabic every preposition has to have an "after preposition" (or "ap" for short) after
it. If a word seems to be a preposition but doesn't have an "ap" after it, it's not a preposition.
Note that in the last three sentences we see "today" in different colors. I gave you these
three sentences to show you that "today" doesn't have to be the time of a verb (although
that's what it usually is).
