As a former delivery driver for two different courier companies. I must say, the second company i
worked for, were the ones to bring out Amazon’s tactics. At the first place, i started off easy with 130
deliveries a day for a 10hr shift. The company would automatically pay us 10 hrs even if we worked less
than that.
The next day, i had 250 deliveries and all in gated communities. I quit the job when i was on my 120th
delivery and stuck arguing with a security guard about the delivery.
The second company i worked for, i showed up at 5AM, got the van loaded and during dispatch
announcement, the dispatcher told us all, “if you know your route, take your time and dont rush it. The
more you run, the more theyll give you”
The restroom was also nonexistent as they had me in Calabasas, CA. Most houses, i couldnt even walk
up to the door without having a security guard meeting me at the sidewalk.
When the dispatcher let me know of Amazons tactics, i began working much less and got to the point
where i would spread my 10 hr shift to the point id be able to go back home, make brealfast, lunch and
grab a snack and drink prior to it being 5PM

What I find so tragic is that if you have just a surface level understanding of labor history in this country
you notice that since the 1990s our labor rights have been crushed to such a degree that we are actually
going backwards in labor relations with employers is back in the 1820s in that our rights as workers are
dying by degrees.

So pleased to finally see this outstanding Frontline program. I have to say that the the final reaction I’ve
had is that Amazon looks shockingly like a cult. Thanks for the outstanding research and reporting.

This dude laughing maniacally while wielding giant robot arms is literally the closest we’ll get to Lex

I like many here also worked for Amazon for around 6 months as a delivery driver. It is true when the
employees say you are just a number. A comment down below said their son fell and hurt his elbow
while out delivering. And they just piled more on you until you burnout. Same story for me minus the
injury. My heart goes out to all overworked and underpaid amazon employees. Definitely not a good
company to work for from personal experience. Anyways I ramble. Great documentary!
