What are the Characteristics of an Effective Leader in Science?


1. What knowledge should they know?
An effective Science leader should have a thorough understanding of the scientific concepts contained within
the national curricula, backed up by a working understanding of scientific theories. He should be comfortable using
scientific vocabulary and understanding investigate science topics and advise them students to do the same. Lastly,
he should be familiar with a suitable range of teaching methods suitable for the subject matter.

2. What attitude should they possess?


Inspiring science instruction results from Science leaders who prioritize scientific research at the heart of their
school's science curriculum, and comprehend how children study science. A good science leader should be honest,
self-aware, courageous, respectful, empathic, and grateful. They should be learning to be agile and flex their
influence while effectively communicating and delegating. Consider how these key leadership characteristics can be
taught and improved at all levels of your organization.

3. What skills should they exhibit?


A good science leader ensures that all students participate can broaden their understanding of the big picture
because their teachers are experienced practitioners, they can learn about scientific ideas and the skills required to
work as a scientist provide an inquiry-based curriculum with access to suitable resources. Science leaders have the
ability to grow a science vision for the entire school when Science is important to school leadership teams as a core
