Topic: The Principles of Designs
Learning Competencies: Identify how elements of arts are utilize and illustrate how art and design
stimulate creativity and imagination.

II. MATERIALS NEEDED


Drawing book
Colouring materials

III. LESSON

A. PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES
1. Prayer - write the name of the student who will pray
2. Checking of Attendance
3. Introductory Activity
Activity Title: Semantic Mapping
Instructions: Ask for a volunteers, what are your ideas that would best describe
art/design? Give one word that would describe/definite art/ design.

B. LESSON PROPER
4. Discussion of Lesson - Discuss principles of design
5. Activity
Activity Title: "My Masterpiece"
Instructions:

A.
1. Draw 7 boxes/squares
2. Draw/paint/illustrate each box so that each box will represent a principle of design.

B.
1. Draw a picture/object/ nature/scenery etc. The Principles of Design (balance, contrast,
emphasis, movement, pattern, rhythm, unity) must be visible in your illustration.
