Dear Senator Zubiri:

Greetings! We, the Local Government Unit, and the community of the municipality of hope that
you are having a day full of blessings.

I am writing this letter to inform you, as a vital role of good governance, about our situation in
Lala. The Municipality of is the only 1st class municipality in the province of Lanao del Norte with
fast rising economy and fast-growing population of almost 80,000 inhabitants of the 27
barangays. These people must be delivered with basic services relative to the protection of life,
liberty and property and the promotion of general welfare which has always been the thrust and
priority of the Local Government Unit of, Lanao del Norte. The situation is that the only
serviceable fire truck of the Bureau of Fire Protection and patrol car of the Philippine National
Police in our municipality could not adequately serve or respond the whole populace in case
there were large fires, calamities, lawless violence, illegal drugs, emergencies, and other crimes
which might occur in the municipality as well as in the neighboring municipalities. Only one (1)
out of the two (2) fire trucks can be used during emergencies which was the very old one (1985)
because the newly acquired fire truck is undergoing major repair. Thus, our municipality is
presently using the thirty-seven (37) year old fire truck which have both undergone their share
of major body and engine repairs caused by progressive damage due to wear and tear and
aging.

In light of this, LGU believes that the Honourable Senator will not hesitate to support the needs
of Lala BFP. Hence, we are knocking your kind heart and earnestly requests from your humble
office to provide one (1) unit each: fire truck as a primordial importance of the LGU in order to
effectively respond to various calamities and emergencies and also for the efficient delivery of
public service to the people in the municipality of.
