The very active School Principal I of Don E. Sero Elementary School Dr. Alma D. Libres,
gave the opening remarks by starting with the house rules specially on the attendance during
the INSET. She emphasized that anybody caught not around during the duration of the
training will be marked ABSENT. She discussed the INSET proceedings based on DepEd
Order No. 8 Series of 2015.
The first discussant was Sir Marvin V. Henson, T-III and School ICT Coordinator. He talked
about ICT Integration in the Curriculum which aimed at equipping the teachers with 21 st
Century Skills. It was followed by Sir Louie Nielsen J. Paniango who discussed about
Contextualization, Localization, and Indigenization in the Curriculum.
The morning session ended at 11:30 AM with everyone having a more vivid understanding of
the topics that were discussed.
The afternoon session started with the Management of Learning (MOL). It was allotted
workshop as the teachers were tasked to make and present outputs related to the topics.
The second day begun with the singing of a nationalistic song thru video and a short prayer,
followed by the Thought for the Day and the recap of the previous day discussion at 7:00
AM. It was a special session because we were graced by the presence of the SGOD Chief Sir
Benjamin M. Wahab, who shared his knowledge and wisdom about Moral Governance.
Another important topic was discussed in the afternoon session by the SDOCC Physical
Facilities Coordinator, Sir Ronnie Almia. He shared his knowledge about Basic and Advance
Excel, a tool that is very useful to the teachers. It was truly a fruitful session.

DAY 3 – December 14, 2022; Venue- Grade 1- Yu/ Sandigan Room
The third day begun at exactly 7:00 AM with the singing of a nationalistic song and a short
prayer thru video followed by the Roll Call, Recap of Previous Day’s discussion and Thought
for the Day. The School Guidance Coordinator, Maam Sirikit M. Dumamba, T-III discussed
the Learning Gaps and Gains which is very ideal in identifying the weaknesses and strengths
of the learners in order to implement interventions for the development of every learner.
The whole afternoon was devoted to output preparation on Learning Gaps and Gains.
Everybody was able to submit their output at the end of the afternoon session and were
compiled per group, duly submitted to the speaker.
The fourth day begun at exactly 7:00 AM with the singing of a nationalistic song and a short
prayer thru video followed by the Roll Call, Recap of Previous Day’s discussion and Thought
for the Day.
Maam Shahani T. Cabilo, T-I was the resource speaker about Numeracy and Literacy. She
included the ways on how to craft the tool needed to assess the numeracy and literacy skills
of the learners that will be used by the teachers.
The afternoon session was devoted to output making about Numeracy and Literacy. The
teachers were tasked to craft a tool that will measure the skills of the pupils in numeracy. All
teachers were able to present their output and duly submitted to the speaker.
The fifth day begun at exactly 7:00 AM with the singing of a nationalistic song and a short
prayer thru video followed by the Roll Call, Recap of Previous Day’s discussion and Thought
for the Day.
The active and supportive principal of DESES, Dr. Alma D. Libres, served as the discussant
for the day. She discussed about the importance of making an action plan that will address the
needs of the school and more importantly, the needs of the learners.
The afternoon session was memorable because we were monitored by the District 8 PSDS,
Dr. Lorna C. Pendililang and our Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, Maam Sarapia
Guiamadin- Talapas, MAED, who delivered an inspirational message to the teachers.

Another input was given by the principal of DESES about Differentiated Instruction. The
teachers eagerly listened to the speaker and participated in the activity that required them to
present an output anchored on the topic discussed.
A short program completed the five-day In-Service Training for Teachers with everybody
having a strong belief that what they gained from it have a great impact on their personal and
professional development which could contribute a lot in the quest to bring quality education
in the New Normal. It was followed shortly with the awarding of certificates to the
participants of the In- Service Training.
This closing program included a Despedida Party for our former colleague, Dr. Helen Mae A.
Betito, as she embarks on a new professional journey as faculty of Cotabato State University.
Mixed emotions enveloped the venue at Secret Place Garden Pool and Resto Bar in Cotabato
City as teachers remembered the happy memories shared with our beloved colleague and
friend.
