Summary

The purpose of this study is to investigate the nuclear reactions, binding energy and rate of decay
of the following of the given problems. For finding the answers we’re looking for, we had to find
the type of nuclear decay by looking at an isotope’s neutron to proton ratio then balance the
nuclear reaction based on the type of nuclear decay. Next is to use the formula for mass defect to
find for the binding energy problems. Lastly, formulas for decay constant, activity of the isotope
at a time, time and change in nuclei were used as well as converting units to express the answer
in the right unit. The results of each problem are appropriate to the problem as proper formulas
were used in solving the problems, in addition to adhering to proper unit conversion to present
the answers in the appropriate unit
