I. BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

1.1. Introduction 

The Philippines is well-known with its prominent heavy traffic around the metro, where it

gets to the point that citizens have to work around the heavy and frequent traffic to be able to get

to wherever on time. One of the factors that contributes to the traffic jams experienced in the

country is the high count of vehicles being sold and used in the country. Around year 2020, the

Philippines ranked as the 11th country in the Asia Pacific Region in owning vehicles and not to

mention the significant increase in purchase of these vehicles ever since the pandemic started

(Statista, 2022). The automotive industry in the country started thriving more since the pandemic

as people wanted to still get around without the fear of being contracted with the virus by using

public transportation and soon enough there are well over 1.5 million vehicles registered in the

country by 2022 (Statista, 2022).

With millions of users and vehicles in the country, not only did vehicle manufacturer

thrived but as well as automobile service providers, one of which is beepbeep.ph. Beepbeep.ph

was founded in 2017 and was the first online directory which connects vehicle owners or users to

shops and manufacturers. The company aims to provide solutions with any car problems with

convenience, reliability, and security (beepbeep.ph, 2017). They mainly source parts and services

that the customer needs and wants alongside with offers in discount on said services when

customers acquire it from partner shops or companies.

The researchers chose to do a study on beepbeep.ph’s marketing strategy as one of its

main form of marketing is through partnership with several other businesses and companies

within the industry. Partnering with multiple business within the industry allows sure increases

the capacity of the company to be known with other prospective customers. With the company

only functioning as the middle ground between the customer and service provider, the research

aims to find a more optimal way of marketing the services provided by the company to ensure

significant increase of users.

1.2. Statement of The Problem

This study aims to know and evaluate the different marketing strategies that could be

used in promoting or boosting customer usage of beepbeep.ph. Therefore, this study will answer

the following specific questions

could guide the beepbeep.ph on choosing would be the most effective marketing strategy to use

for them to have a boost in customer usage.

The results of this study may be helpful in the industry by giving. The data illustrates the

most effective marketing tactics. The findings of this study will offer a quantitative analysis that

beepbeep.ph will need to boost sales. In academia, the study will be crucial in completing the

This research focuses on determining the best marketing strategy for beepbeep.ph to

significantly increase customer usage. Recent studies and research will be used to determine the

best marketing strategy for beepbeep.ph in order to increase customer usage. The data will be

gathered through survey questionnaires to all vehicle owners in 2022. The paper will use

quantitative analysis to determine the best marketing strategy for beepbeep.ph to significantly

increase customer usage.

This study will not address other issues that are not necessarily related to this topic.

Lastly, the selection of respondents for this study are private vehicle owners.

In the automotive industry, there are many ways to market the automotive industry. But

what marketing strategy could be a huge help to Beepbeep.ph. This research focuses on

marketing strategies that could help beepbeep.ph to have more customer engagement or

customer usage. This chapter also tackles about traditional marketing, digital marketing, service

quality and automotive industry in the Philippines.

2.1. BeepBeep.ph

According to Beepbeep.ph, the company was the first online directory specifically

designed to link automobile owners and aftermarket businesses was launched in 2017 and is

called beepbeep.ph. In addition to being a thorough directory, beepbeep.ph has developed

creative ways to link businesses and car owners. Services like Premier Concierge, who finds

parts and services for customers, our Fast Lane Program, which rewards customers with benefits

and discounts on automotive goods and services from Partner Shops, and AutoSan Services

make maintenance and daily living more convenient. Beepbeep.ph was built with their customers

in mind for the company to give car needs and problems solutions that are convenient, reliable

and secured. Beepbeep.ph will ensure to provide customers with the assurance that the customers

vehicles needs are no longer a hassle.

2.2. Marketing strategy

Marketing strategy represents a critical element of success for organizations. Executing

an effective marketing strategy is just as important as conceptualizing and creating it. Through

marketing strategy implementation, firms employ scarce resources through marketing

capabilities to attain the set goals and targets. (Aimin, 2016)

According to (Lilyquist, 2019) Marketing is essentially anything you do to promote your

business to entice customers and clients to buy from you and these includes advertising,

publicity, sales, social media, merchandising, and distribution. Using traditional and

digital/internet marketing has still an ongoing argument whether which is more effective to use

on a business. While in fact, both can be a useful method to market a certain product or service.

The key to know whether what method to use is to know more your target market, because it

could give information on where are they more active.

2.2.1 Traditional marketing


Traditional marketing consists of having tangibility or hard copy materials to provide to

customers. The pros in doing traditional marketing is that it makes it easy to provide customers

the information of the products or services on the go. Having a person-to-person market can be

an extra effective strategy in traditional marketing because business can do more demonstration

and explanation regarding the products or services that is being offered.

While the cons of doing traditional marketing is that it could be costlier to execute because it

includes advertising for TV, radios and print out such as brochures, business cards, and mailers.

because the printed materials needs to be given away to customers and potential customers to

In internet marketing, it utilizes website, search engine optimization (SEO), website banner ads,

social media, pay per click advertising and email marketing. Pros of using internet marketing is

that it can reach wider audiences and it is more cost affordable. See which methods bring

prospects and leads to your business and which don't. This data allows you to focus on what's

working. Available for businesses of all sizes. Identifying the demographics is better to reach and

find certain target markets. Feedbacks and responses from audiences are faster and could

possible adjust marketing as soon as possible.

The cons in internet marketing is that it could be more time consuming because business

owners must be able to post contents of their products or services consistently and comments and

With all this information gathered, it is still not questionable whether which method is more

effective, but it is best to know what type of audience does the business have and adjust

accordingly to the target market of the business to reach more customer and potential customers.

communicating with existing customers to provide better services and retain them. Displaying is

easier for companies to identify why customers buy, identify opportunities to sell new products,

According to Leonard (2019), demographics are critical in identifying the ideal consumer

for a company's products or services. Because businesses cannot target their marketing to each

customer, demographics are the most effective marketing method for groups of people with

similar characteristics. It is also necessary as a foundation for raising startup funds, developing

marketing strategies, and guiding the business's launch. Furthermore, demographics can assist

marketers in avoiding costly errors in strategy innovation. It can determine whether the process

is appropriate for the company. According to Fife-Schaw, et al. (2019), consumer preference is

used to recognize an option with the highest anticipated value among several options. Preference

indicates choices among neutral or more valued options, with acceptance indicating a willingness

to tolerate the status quo or some less desirable option.

The product indicates the goods, services, or a combination of the two that the

organization offers in the market. Price describes the amount consumers must pay to acquire the

product. On the other hand, a place involves a site where consumers can find goods or services,

while promotion refers to activities that communicate the product's merits and persuade

customers to buy it. Kotler and Armstrong (2016) state that market segmentation and targeting

are vital to all firms' intermittent growth and development. It offers various aids that can help

businesses maximize potential breaks efficiently.

Digital marketing is the use of digital channels to promote or market certain goods or

services to customer and potential customers. Digital marketing includes the use of websites,

mobile devices, social media, search engine, and other similar channels. The digital marketing

strategy became known in the year 1990s during the development of internet. According to

(Barone, 2022) Digital marketing involves some of the same principles as traditional marketing

and is often considered a new way for companies to approach consumers and understand their

behavior. Companies often combine traditional and digital marketing techniques in their

strategies.

With the rise and improvement of technologies, companies are forced to shift their marketing

strategies to gain customer attraction. Email was one of the most popular marketing tool in the

early days of digital marketing and then shifted to search engines that allowed businesses to get

them noticed by customers. The development of different social medias like Facebook made it

possible for some companies to have a track on data to cater to consumer trends. Smartphone and

other digital devices has a huge part on digital marketing because it made it easier for companies

to market themselves and their goods and services to customers.

Content marketing’s goal is to reach and gain attraction to potential customers with the

use of different kinds of content such as blogs, ebooks, online courses, infographics, podcast,

III. FRAMEWORK OF THE STUDY

3.1 Theoretical Framework:

This study makes use of a theory that will serve as a guide in the entire process of this

research which is Chaffey’s Theory on digital marketing.

In 2002, Chaffey said that Monitoring and facilitating customer’s interaction,

participation and sharing through digital media to encourage positive engagement with a

company and its brands leading to commercial value. Interactions may occur on a company site,

social networks and other third party websites.
