11.2004

1 Chiller

1.1 Configuration of chiller

This product consists of cooling system, air cycle system, liquid cycle system(LW-P type) and
electric control system. Outline is as figure 1

main characteristics:

1、Cooling system is an entirely close compressor of refrigeration type, which adopts piece-wing
radiator with high efficiency, equipped with whole imported compressor and low noise fan
engine, and also the board evaporator with high heat-exchange modulus, which has strong
cooling and good hermetic ability, lower energy consumption, and it’s no need to add coolant
and lubricant in use.

2、Electric control system adopts touch key-press microcomputer controller, which has many
functions like working control of compressor, working control of cycle pump, chain protection
of compressor and fan, automatic control and adjustment of liquid temp, delaying start of
compressor, overload and current protection, motor reverse protection, high and low
pressure protection, to avoid freezing, failure warring, liquid temp setup and actual temp
numeral display, tracking control depending on surrounding temp. Reliable performance,
perfect function, easy control ensure that machine work normally and continuously.

3、In order to avoid failure as over-lower temp, there is a device of protection which is set at 5℃
before out factory.

4、To meet different demands of condition, there is no need of source, just power-on can make it
work.

1.2.1 Work theory

By dint of evaporation and decalescence of lower temperature and pressure coolant in board
style evaporator, the liquid comes from machine cool down through the board. Cool liquid is sent back
to machine through cycle pump of unit or mechanical device. And the lower temperature and
pressure coolant from the evaporator enters compressor become mid temperature one, then enter
evaporator again to absorb heat through lower pressure in capillary. Through all this kind of
continuous cycle in liquid cycle system and cooling cycle system, to ensure the liquid of machine
keep best condition for machine with best quality, high precision, high efficiency.

Note:
1、You should strike the short-lead between "1" and "2" in terminal board if you need control
the unit with external switch ,then fetch the switch control wiring in terminal "9" "10" from "XP"

After power on, contactor KM1 attaches, liquid cycle pump starts to work, the green light on the
control panel is on, liquid starts to cycle and microcomputer controller works at same time, by the
examination of temperature sensor, and the temperature displays on numerical tube, when it meets
conditions as below:
(1)liquid temperature go over 1℃ over than set value ;
(2)Time exceed three minutes or compressor stop up than three minutes;
When meet these two conditions, contactor KM2 attach, compressor and fan start to work,
cooling system works(the green light of “cooler” of control panel is on). When temperature under 1℃
than set value, compressor and fan stop, cooling system stop too, to make sure it work reliably,
controller has a series of protection functions. When there is a error happened, KM1, KM2 release,
cycle pump, compressor, and fan stop, the relevant light on control panel is on which can fix the
wrong position, at the same time the relay on control panel release and through connection XT export
a pair of warning signals of passive touching point(1L+、2L+).

Notice: (1)cooling ability as upwards specified is when surrounding temperature is 35℃ and
liquid temperature is 35℃.
(2)The minimum value of temperature that can be controlled is 15℃.
(3)There will not have any messages if something changed as developed technology.
The nameplate is standard.

1.3 Operation instruction

1.3.1 Functions of control panel(control panel as figure 4)

1、Numeral tube: display set and current temperature.

2、Cooling working light (COOLER): when meet set condition, compressor works, and the light is
on.

3、Liquid cycle pump working light (PUMP): after the unit is power on, liquid cycle pump works,
liquid starts to cycle, and the light is on.

4、Emergency light (ALL): when there has pressure overload, pump overload, compressor
overload, phase error, one or more mistakes occurred, light is on (red), and passive relay in
control circuit is cut to send a warning outwards. All buttons are out of control in the course of
failure.

5、Cooling system pressure error light (PRESS): when the pressure is too high or too low in
cooling system, the light is on(Red), and a warning is sent out, after it is solved, the light is off.

6、Cycle pump working error light (PUMP): when cycle pump has error, the light is on (red), and a
warning is sent out, after it is solved, the light is off.

7、Compressor overload error light(COMP): when there is an abnormal error or power supply
error occurred, the light is on(Red), and a warning is sent out, after it is solved, the light is off.

8、Phases error indicator light of power supply (REV): When the order of three phases doesn’t
accord with set order, the light is on (Red), and a warning is sent out, after it is solved, the
light is off.

9、Set/display (SET/PLAY): press this button, the numerical tube glitters, that means it need to be
set temperature, after been set, there is a protection function for power off. The max. of
temperature is 35℃ and the minimum is 10℃.

10、 Decreasing quantity(▽): adjust the set temperature, press every time to reduce 1℃. For
fixed temperature model, the minimum is 10℃.

11、Increment(△): adjust the set temperature, press every time to increase 1℃. the max. is
35℃.

1.3.2 Operation

1、When the unit is power on, numerical tube displays temperature, cycle pump starts to work.
2、Press SET/ENT button, numerical tube glitter to display original setting temperature.
3、Please cut external power supply when it is need to stop.

1.4 Installation and commission test

1.4.1 Installation demand

1、The unit should be installed in place with good ventilation and is away from dust, and should
keep 1 or more meters’ distance between draught place and corner or other things.

2、Ensure there are not any corrosive or incendive gas around unit, also there should not have
any objects with high temperature or other exothermic object. Avoid irradiation on unit.

3、Fixing place is decided by customer according to the unit style. The size is on the stylebook.
The structure of the place should support the weight of unit and power when it works.

4、 There are some other aspects those should be regarded when you decide the fixing position.
For instance how to keep liquid flow well and easily install, reduce pressure loss of loop, and
also keep liquid eject easily.

5、 Customer should make a fixing hole in fixing position according to the demand of product.

6、 The unit should be supplied by special power supply, the section area of electrical wire must
measure up. It is necessary to install an air switch or fuse system.

7、 The unit should be earthed reliably according correlative standards.

8、In the process of conveying or installing, the unit should avoid to be impacted or jounce
heavily. And also avoid being deflection and inversion. So it is important to keep original
packing before conveying and installing. Pay attention to retain center of gravity when
suspend chiller, rise reposefully.

1.4.2 Installation

1、Remove the packing, place the unit at the fixing position.

2、 Fix unit on position with special accessories.

3、Connect power supply cable on special electrical outlet of three phases and five lines. The
section area of cable we suggested is 1.5mm2~2.5 mm2 .If the power supply cable is three
phases and five lines, it is necessary to remove “PE” and “N” on the row of chiller
connection.

4、connect the outer liquid tubes with in and out nozzle. Please pay attention to:
(1)The tube should not have rust, dust and oil etc. the nozzle of in should be installed filter.
(2)Outer tube size should bigger than tube size of unit, And also it is necessary to be
airproofed around tie-in.

5、If it is need, some materials can be put on out tube to keep temperature.

1.4.3 Commission test

1、Affirm that unit is good, installation is finished well, power supply is normal, tube connection is
correct.

2、Before first time to start the unit, water should be injected between liquid pump and bottom
valve by means as below:
Unscrew outlet/exhaust stopple on pump with hexagonal spanner, inject water between
pump and bottom valve. Then screw stopple otherwise empty absorbing would happen.

3、Power on the unit, if warning light on control panel is on, that means phases protector is
activated, please change any two phases of three.

4、Operate according to manual, ensure unit work well and electro-control part act reliably, and
there is not incorrect sounds or phenomena existed.

5、According to demand to control flux by adjusting ball value of entrance. To reach best effect.

6、After a while of working, the actual temperature displayed on numerical tube of control panel
should fall down step by step.

1.5 Maintenance

1、 This series of chiller just can be used for water, liquid of water-solubility, and other
not corrosive liquid, it is forbidden to be used for liquid as below:
(1)Fuel such as kerosene, gasoline, etc.
(2)Liquid of leechdom and foodstuff.
(3)All poisonous, corrosive liquid

2、 Power supply and fuse must accord with instruction and nameplate. The allowable
mutative range of voltage is ±10, unit should be installed with a separate air switch or breaker.

3、 Ensure there are not any bars around draught places existed.

4、Vacuum pressure of entrance should be in the range of 0~230mmHg,.Filter should be metal


net of 100~150 items. Pressure loss of outlet should be less than 0.3Mpa.Filter should be
cleaned termly to avoid jam.

5、To ensure the unit work well, open outlet termly (about two weeks) to release liquid and clean
sundries of cooler.

6、Clean air filtration net every two weeks. Remove filtration net first, use cleaner or hot water
less than 40℃ and litmusless scour to clean it. After cleaning, wipe and air it in hidden place,
and then install it back.

7、When the surface of unit is dirty, wipe and wash it with litmusless scour or high quality soap
water. It is forbidden to use petroleum kind, acid kind, milling powder, steel brush and sand
paper to avoid destroying surface.

8、After a long deposited time or about half years’ using, please check the cooler whether it is
jammed by dust and feculence. If it’s need, please clean unit by dry compressed air, cleaner
or feather brush. Pay attention to wing style radiator and don’t destroy it.

9、When it is necessary to repair the unit, there are some things should pay attention to:
(1)When it is need to weld unit, please remove cooler from unit, and release all water in cooler.
(2)It is necessary to do service work in place with good airiness and no burning risk, and also
cannot influence other people’s working when release refrigerant.
(3)Switch off before maintaining.
(4)Abide to relative technical principles when do jointing works, avoid to burn other components.
(5)Service must be done by professional who has qualification license of manufacturer.

1.6 Familiar trouble shooting

1、 Unit can’t start after power-on, please check:


(1)Cable connection
(2)Fuse of circuit.
(3)Open circuit of cable.
(4)Whether the voltage of power supply is normal.
(5)Whether fuse of control panel is ok.
(6)Temperature set
(7)Whether temperature sensor is fixed reliably
(8)whether unit is in position of time delay or warning.
(9)Whether phase order protector acts well

2、 Cycle pump works but compressor and fan don’t work. Please check:
(1)Voltage of power supply.
(2)Whether overload protector works well.
(3)Whether high-low voltage protector works well.
(4)Whether frozen protector works well.
(5)Whether the red light on panel is on.

3、 Unit works normally, but effect of cooling is not good enough. Please check:
(1)Whether filter is too dirty.
(2)Whether the set temperature is correct.
(3)Whether unit style is chosen correctly.
(4)Whether there is fraise in draught place.
(5)whether the position of temperature sensor is correct.
(6)Whether temperature of liquid is too high.
(7)Whether quantity of cycle is too large.
(8)Whether surrounding temperature is too high.

Notice: Check and deal as above-mentioned, if unit still can not work well, please contact
manufacturer. The unit should be stopped when meet errors as below:

(1)Fuse or breaker often cut, or error light warn continually.


(2)Compressor starts and stops continually.
(3)Compressor works well, but pump or fan can’t work.
(4)Cycle pump works normally, but compressor and fan can’t start for a lasting time.
(5)There are unwonted noises when unit works.
