AIMS OF THE LESSON:

 to give examples of adjectives describing feelings


 to acquire new adjectives describing feelings
 to match the feelings with the physical sensations
 to express what they might feel in different situations
 to develop speaking, writing, reading skills

METHODS: conversation, exercise, think-pair-share


AIDS: blackboard, handouts, pictures, an emoticon dice

POSSIBLE DRAWBACKS:
 Ss may have some problems in expressing fluently in English
 Ss may be confused by some new words

ACTIVITY 1 Introduction
Reason: introduction of the topic

PROCEDURE INTERACTION TIMING

-the T greets the Ss and checks if there are any absents


-the T asks the Ss how they are feeling at the moment and she frontal 6 min
is going to write these words on the board. Then she is going to
ask them if they can think of other words that could be used to
talk about the way they are feeling, about things that happened
to them recently, or are about to happen.
After the Ss gave their examples the T tells them that today
they are going to talk about feelings.

ACTIVITY 2 Presentation
Reason: acquiring new vocabulary

PROCEDURE INTERACTION TIMING

Ss receive a handout with adjectives describing feelings and they


have to decide if they are positive or negative. The Ss write the frontal
adjectives on the blackboard in the right column. (ex. 1)

In pairs Ss have to solve ex 2- mach the feelings with the pairwork


physical sensations (ex. 2)

ACTIVITY 3 Practice
Reason: to practice using the new vocabulary

PROCEDURE INTERACTION TIMING

- the T shows the Ss the a few pictures and asks the Ss to


identify the feelings. After they have finished doing the exercise frontal 10min
the T gives the Ss an emoticon dice and asks them to answer the
question `How are you feeling today?` with the feeling they will
get when they roll it. E.g: `I am feeling happy. `

ACTIVITY 3 Production

Reason: using words related to feelings in solving the tasks

PROCEDURE INTERACTION TIMING

In pairs Ss have to have to describe what they might feel in pairwork


different situation scenarios and to explain why they are feeling 10min
that way. (ex.3)

-T makes verbal appreciations on the Ss’ activity;


-the T asks the Ss to describe a situation when they felt happy, frontal 4min
as homework.
