BURGOS NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL SORRENTO ANNEX

PROJECT PROPOSAL

A. Project Context

Title of School Program Creation of Intervention Programs to All Subject Areas to Increase Students’ Performance

Competency/ ies Innovativeness, Resourcefulness, Creativeness, Independence, Collaboration/Teamwork

Situation/ Rationale Burgos National High School Sorrento is committed to producing quality education by helping teachers to develop their own

contextualized and localized intervention materials as well as increasing students’ performance in all subject areas.

As Anchored with the Division Memorandum No. 560 S. 2021, Burgos NHS Sorrento conducted a study through data

gathering on number of learners on range of grades, average grades by each learning area and report on least/unmastered

skills for 1st quarter. And as shown in the overall result of school MPS based on the First quarter LOA record, Burgos National

High School-Sorrento got an averaged MPS of 44.56, which is far from districts’ Target of 75.00. The extreme below normal

result of Phil IRI (20 non-readers both in English and Filipino.) and Numeracy (146 non-numerate) assessments conducted by

the school have been proven to be one of the factors of the school MPS result. In this due, BNHS-Sorrento launched project

SIIMULA (Strategic Intervention and Instructional Materials to Uplift Learners Achievement) from February to June 2023.

The said project aims to develop and enhance the skills which are least mastered by the learners in all the subject areas.

Whereas schools must adopt assessment and grading practices that can most meaningfully support student development and

respond to the varied context at this time.

Thus, it is an immense challenge to all the teachers to ensure that learning occurred among students particularly in this

transition period as resulted by the aftermath of pandemic in education system. This is where we could see the important

role of teachers in addressing the found gaps in learning by applying innovative and strategic teaching learning processes for

the welfare of the learners.
