Focus class observation for met 4

Note several things that you would like to ‘steal’ from the teacher and the lesson in
order to make them part of your own teaching, i.e., personal qualities, teaching skills
and techniques, activities, classroom atmosphere. Finally, choose something you feel you
would like to give this teacher in return for your many thefts.

Stolen item 1

Description of item: The classroom atmosphere

I stole this because: I see all the students comfortable with the teacher, and without much fear of participating, I
think the teacher creates this environment due to his personality that does not feel cold to his students.

Stolen item 2

Description of item: His monitoring

I stole this because: Monitored interactively without making students nervous, many teachers made me feel
uncomfortable when they tried to monitor the group I was in, so I appreciate the comfort.

Stolen item 3

Description of item: His development as a teacher

I stole this because: The teacher flows very well when it comes to explaining and asking the students things, he
seems comfortable with the language and very prepared to teach, on the contrary, I am very ashamed so that
would be something that I would definitely steal from him.

Stolen item 4

Description of item: STT and TTT

I stole this because: The teacher speaks what is necessary, by this I mean that he controls his TTT, he is clear and
explains the necessary things, also he knows his students and makes them participate either in checking to
understand of tasks or so that they share answers to the class, the teacher was able to elict a lot of participation
from students.

Description of item: His planning a class

I stole this because: I think the activities were very good since they were interesting and at the same time it made
the students not get bored of the class even when it was about a reading, the connection between them is the
most important thing and that he could have done it that way seems to me very interesting and admirable.

Description of item: Classroom interaction

I´d like to give you this because: In the minute 6:50 task, I think he could have organized their students in groups,
but seating, the idea was nice but I think if they stand up being the quantity they are, makes the classroom looks a
little messy and disorganized. It´s important to say that students had an activity where they stood up after that
one too, so I think it is too much.
