In celebration of the World Architecture Day 2022, The School of

Architecture Student Council (SOASC) will be holding an Architectural Design
Esquisse Competition for Architecture Students from 1st Year to 4th Year on
October 22, 2022, 1:00PM – 7:00PM, College Building, Room 130.

1.) The following are the competition mechanics and guidelines:

2.) The contest is open for Architecture Students of UPHSL from 1st Year to
4th Year

3.) Will only accept the first 5 groups that will register. Each group must be
composed of 4 members that can be composed of any year level.

4.) The Esquisse must illustrate and emphasize the given theme which is:
“World Architecture Day 2022: Architecture for Well- Being”

5.) The design problem will be given on the day of the competition.

6.) Each contestant must finish their entries strictly within 6 hours.

7.) The entries must be done manually using the following materials:

- A1 Board to be provided by the competition committee

- Pencil, Pen and Ink, or Markers for Drafting Plans
Elevations - Sections Perspectives and Labelling/Notes should
be on the account of the contestants.
- Any Rendering Media should be on the account of the
contestants.
- Each team will be given their entry number through draw of
lots on the day of the competition.

8.) The entries will be judged according to the following criteria:

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING SCORE

Relevance to the Theme 20%
Creativity of Presentation 20%
Originality of Design Idea/Concept 50%
Completeness 10%

9.) Entries must be submitted at exactly 7:00 p.m.

10.) There should be no identifying marks on the presentation boards like names
of the members and other icon identified to a member. Only the Entry
Number should be put on the boards.
11.) The judges for the Architectural Design Esquisse Competition are:

12.) Winners will be announced during the awarding ceremonies on the same
day.
13.) Prizes for the winners will be the following:
- First Place: 2,000 pesos and Certificate
- Second Place: 1,200 pesos and Certificate
- Third Place: 800 pesos and Certificate
