Pixie the Chubby Bird

⋮ 16.1.2023

Apparently I have been on a chubby bird kick as of late. I think this is the last one, for now.
I won’t say that for sure, but who knows. I love that you all have been loving them as much
as I have! I hope Pixie is the same.

Pixie was so fun and quick to make! Personalize your colors for Valentine’s Day, or make
Pixie as a shelf friend to see you through all of your crochet adventures. I currently have two
chubby birdies looking at me and overseeing everything.

Happy crocheting!

Adding the tail – Make sure the embroidered side of the tail faces you while crocheting. This

Embroidery

Embroider the eyes between rnds 12 & 13, with 7 sts showing between them. The eyes
should be on the opposite side of the body to the tail feathers.

7/9
Assembly

Use straight pins to hold all pieces together while you are sewing.

Using the yarn tail from where we attached the tail feathers, secure the feathers to the body.
Leave rnds 1-7 free to bend outward.

Sew the beak to the face over rnds 13 & 14. Use the eyes to ensure proper placement.

Sew the wings on either side of the body, over rnds 12-19. Make sure you have them facing
the same way on each side. I sewed mine  with the decreases from rnds 7, 9, and 11 facing
upward. The bottom of the wing should line up perfectly with rnd 19. Use the embroidered
eyes and tail feathers to ensure even placement.

Sew the cheeks over rnds 15-16, on either side of the face. With 10 sts showing between
them.

Add a small amount of stuffing to the hat and sew it on top of the body.

Congratulations! You have finished your Chubby Pixie Bird!
