“The Prayer of Jabez”

There once was a man named Jabez. Jabez was very

honorable. Honorable means that he always tried to do
the right thing. I want everyone to stand up straight and
tall just like Jabez might stand.
The name Jabez means pain. It probably made Jabez
sad to know that his name had a sad meaning. Show me
your best sad face.
Jabez prayed that God would bless him. Everyone kneel
down and act like you are praying.
Jabez asked God to enlarge his territory. That means
that he wanted to be successful in life so that he would
have more opportunities to bring glory to God. Show me
how big you can be since Jabez wanted his life to be big.
Jabez prayed that God’s hand would be with him. Jabez
knew that he could not be successful on his own. He
wanted God to put his hand on him and help him make
good decisions and keep him safe. Give someone near
you a high five.
Jabez asked God to keep him from harm so that he
would be free from pain. Jabez’s name means pain and I
don’t think he liked that because he wanted God to keep
him away from any more pain. Show me a big smile
because Jabez was happy to be away from pain.
Finally, Jabez was done praying. God heard his prayed
and answered it. Jabez was blessed and God watched
over him and kept him from pain. Let’s all clap and
cheer because God is good and he answered Jabez’s
prayer. God can answer your prayers too!

“The Big Fish”

Jonah was a prophet, who was preaching the word of the Lord to the
Israelites. One day, God called Jonah and told him to go preach to Nineveh
because the people were wicked and needed guidance.

Jonah hated this idea because Nineveh was one of Israel’s greatest enemies
and Jonah wanted nothing to do with preaching to them. Jonah ran away from
God and in the opposite direction to the city of Nineveh. He headed to Joppa
and climbed aboard a boat that would take him to Tarshish.

God saw Jonah on the ship and sent a great storm upon the seas. The men
decided Jonah was to blame, that he had brought upon the storm on them, so
they threw him overboard. As soon as they tossed Jonah in the water, the
storm stopped.

God sent a big whale to swallow Jonah and to save him from drowning.
While in the belly of the big whale, Jonah prayed to God for help, repented,
and praised God. For three days and three nights, Jonah sat in the belly of the
fish. All the while Jonah kept thinking about himself and his plight.

Then, God had the big fish throw up Jonah onto the shores of Nineveh. Jonah
preached to Nineveh and warned them that the city would be destroyed in
forty days, and to mend their ways before the time was up, so that they could
attain Heaven. The people believed Jonah, turned from their wickedness. God
had mercy on them, and did not destroy the city once the forty days were up.

Jonah now became angry and bitter because God did not destroy the
Ninevites who were Israel’s enemy. He was afraid he would be now called a
false prophet. So he went out of the city and built a hut and started living
there.
When Jonah sat to rest God made a thick vine grow next to the hut, to give
him shade. Jonah was glad and sat in its shade. The next day, God sent a
worm to eat the vine. A hot wind blew and sun beat down mercilessly.

Jonah was sad to see the vine destroyed and now sat in the hot sun
complaining and wanting to die. God called out to Jonah and scolded him. He
remarked that Jonah lamented the death of a plant that he had not sown or
nourished. Yet he had no thought for the hundred thousand children who
lived in the city of Nineveh, and asked them to be destroyed.

Then Jonah learnt that all men, and women, and little children, whether they
know God or not, are precious in the eyes of the God.

The Christmas Story

From Luke 2:1-20
In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken
of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place
while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to their own
town to register.

So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to

Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of
David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married
to him and was expecting a child.

While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave
birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a
manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over
their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of
the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to
them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for
all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he
is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby
wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel,
praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth
peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to
one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened,
which the Lord has told us about.” So they hurried off and found Mary and
Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger.

When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been
told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the
shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered
them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all
the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

The Birth of the Savior

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: when as his mother
Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was
found with child of the Holy Ghost. Then Joseph her husband, being a
just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to
put her away privily. But while he thought on these things, behold, the
angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou
son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is
conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son,
and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from
their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was
spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, behold, a virgin shall be
with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name
Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Then Joseph
being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him,
and took unto him his wife: and knew her not till she had brought forth
her firstborn son: and he called his name Jesus.

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of

Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to
Jerusalem, saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we
have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all
Jerusalem with him. And when he had gathered all the chief priests
and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where
Christ should be born. And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of
Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet, and thou Bethlehem, in
the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of
thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.
Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of
them diligently what time the star appeared. And he sent them to
Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and
when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and
worship him also.

When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which
they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over
where the young child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with
exceeding great joy. And when they were come into the house, they
saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and
worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they
presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. And
being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod,
they departed into their own country another way.

Testimony
My name is Angelito S Dichosa Jr. a.k.a. Jhun2x and I live in Santo Tomas.
Pangasinan.

I am well please to share you my testimony about my life.

In Friday Night of February 11, 2011. That time when I was 8 years old, I still
remember that my father shared the Gospel of Christ or Salvation because I ask
him of “Ano po ba yung everlasting life?” He realizes that I need to understand
what’s the meaning behind of it. And I was glad because I knew that Christ will be
saved me from the depths of hell and considering his wonderful gift or Grace that
I’ve received. After that, I volunteered to be baptized in the water (because I knew
that baptism is the sign that you follow Christ wholly not you cannot be saved from
baptism). February 13 at Open Door Bible Baptist Church Currently Known as
BODBBC. To make the story short, we transfer our membership to RBBM in order
to us for to be Used by God, up until we got send out by TBBC.

During those years here at Santo Tomas, I feel Comfortable and a stubborn child. I
always do the things which can hurt my father’s feelings and I don’t care at all.
But, one night, I was over thinking and asking myself, “what if am keeping sharing
God’s Word but I am not saved?” and I sincerely ask my father on what will I do,
and guided me. He shared about the Salvation, Assurance, and Eternal Security.
And That was Dec. 1, 2017. I was encouraged to serve the Lord more and I’m still
at the stepping stone changing my attitude. One month later, by the Month of
January 2018 I was rebaptized and still continuing to Serve the Lord.

Now I have great hunger for the Lord and His teaching and I persistently pray that
all my friends, relatives, compatriots, and other people will know Christ and be
saved soon.

MEMORY VERSE:

Genesis 1:1
“Nang pasimula, nilikha ng Dios ang langit at ang lupa.”

Story:

In the beginning there was no earth or sky or sea or animals. And then God spoke in the darkness: "Let
there be light!" And right away there was light, scattering the darkness and showing the infinite space.
"That's good!" said God. "From now on, when it's dark it will be 'night' and when it's light, it will be
'day'."

The evening came and the night passed and then the light returned. That was the first day.

On the second day, God made the earth and over it He carefully hung a vast blue sky. He stood back and
admired His creation. "That's good too!" said God and the second day was over.
The next morning God looked around and thought, "The earth needs to be a bit more organized." So, He
put all the water in one place and all the dry land in another. When He had finished that, God made
plants to cover the land. Dandelions and daffodils appeared. All sorts of trees and grasses began to grow.
"It's looking great," said God and that was the end of the third day.

On the fourth day, God looked around and thought, "The daylight still needs a bit more work and the
night is just too dark." So, He made the sun to light the sky during the day and the moon and stars to add
a bit of sparkle to the night. He hung them in the sky and stepped back to look at his work. "This is
coming along very well," said God.

The next day, God turned his attention to the water he had collected in the oceans. "I want these waters
teeming with life!" As soon as He said it, it was so. In no time, there were millions of small fish darting
through the shallow water and huge fish swimming in the ocean. God made birds, too. He sent them
soaring through the air. "Ahh, that IS good!" said God. The dusk fell over the water and the sky grew
dark and that was the end of the fifth day.

On the sixth day, God added creatures to the land. He made lions and tigers and bears. He made rabbits
and sheep and cows. He added everything from ants to zebras to the land. But He still felt something
was missing. So God added Mankind to enjoy and take care of all that He had created. God looked
around and was happy with all He had made.

After six days, the whole universe was completed. On the seventh day God had a nice long rest and
enjoyed looking at all He had made.
