b. differentiate receptive from productive macro skills; and
c. explain the importance of the macro skills of communication.

It is the process of understanding
involving processing sound waves,
interpreting their meaning, and storing
their meaning in memory. Listening
effectively improves personal
relationship through the reduction of
conflict and strengthens cooperation
through a collective understanding.
Reading is the way a person gets
information from written letters and
words. It also involves decoding
symbols with the intention of delivering
meaning from the text. This can be used
for sharing knowledge, for self-
development or simply for relaxation.
Viewing refers to perceiving,
examining, interpreting, and
construction meaning from visual
images and is crucial to improving
comprehension of print and non-print
materials.
Speaking is the act of talking to
visual texts that come in various
formats, such as TV shows,
advertisements, films, videos,
and images. In short, viewing is
the act of ‘reading’ visual cues.
And under the productive skills
we have speaking and writing.
