1) Dimensional standards shall be in accordance with ASME B16.5 (Flanges), ASME B16.9 (Buttweld fittings), ASME B16.11 (Forged steel fittings), and ASME B16.10 (Valves)
2) Reducing fitting thickness shall match heavier pipewall thickness
3) Refer to standard specification PCSE-100-ET-C-001 for design and fabrication requirements and PCSE-100-ET-C-026 TO 029 for general requirements for piping materials supply
4) Flanges larger than 24" shall be in accordance with ASME B16.47 TYPE B
5) Pipe used for underground service shall be factory externally coated with at least 16 mils fusion bonded epoxy.
6) 150# & 300# FF flanges and full faced gaskets shall be used with flat face valves.
7) Potable water system that meet the pressure and temperature rating of specification "Y1" may be piped with PVC and CPVC pipe per specification "Y1"
8) Firewater loop main sectioning valves to be "KEY-TYPE" for maintenance isolation
9) Pipe shall be SAW (Straight seam) with 100% of X-RAY
10) All flanges and flanged ends shall have serrated spiral finish facings 125 to 250 AARH max.
11) To perform a diameter change from C.S. to Galvanized C.S. use swage nipples
12) Corrosion allowance 0.125" valid for 3" & above piping
13) Valve to be used for buried service. 14) Coating of piping material (including, pipe,
fittings, valves & stud bolts and nuts) shall be in accordance with the requirements of Standart Specification No. PCSE-100-ET-X-002; Selection and Application of Protective Coatings.
